This page says "Fast, Safe, Free". Maybe it's a different Kazaa. I don't know. I seem to remember previous marketing material that says more directly, you can download as much as you want with the software. It seems deceptive to me, like putting up a sign on a table of 50 cupcakes that says "Free Cupcakes" without actually mentioning that only one or two of the cupcakes are free.

Doesn't trolling generally seek to elicit a negative response, or somehow misrepresent facts and lie to incense the audience?

If any of the people on Slashdot are Black (like me) then putting that word out there definitely elicits a negative response.

I referenced a few common slashdot trolls and running jokes in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Christ.

It was inconsistent. You said "Russian", not "Commie". You said "gay", not "fag". Instead of saying "Black", you said "nigger".

But relax. You ultimately ended up getting modded funny above all else. And given the environment here, I wouldn't be surprised if I ultimately got modded down for being a "troll".

I haven't had any crashes, which is a step up for me and Firefox. The main differences I've noticed are I keep clicking the wrong place to close a tab, and things are going slower. Typing in forms is slower, I guess because it's spell checking everything now. So that's okay. Even though it's got "okay" underlined as a mispelled word. But when I type a URL, the browser takes forever to load the type-ahead information and let me finish typing an address. I lost a few themes but the only plugin I'm still waiting on is Reveal. I like the upgrade for the spell checker if nothing else, but I hope they fix the slow response in the address bar.

I downloaded IE7 but didn't install it for fear that it would ruin the computer's stability. I downloaded Firefox 2 and installed it immediately. This is mainly because Firefox is more separate from the rest of the computer than Internet Explorer (at least to this point) so I wasn't so worried about it not working. I decided to wait for the automatic update so I'd get it the same time as everybody else and there would be more time to work out any potential issues. So if there are other people like me then IE7 may have a bunch of people who are eager to use it but don't want to be early adopters. That could result in the download rates spiking heavily after the comfort level increases.

Maybe the iPod sounds good enough. I know a couple of people who were in no hurry to switch from audio cassettes to compact discs because a metal tape with Dolby B noise reduction was good enough for them. I have a cousin who still uses her VCR to record television right now because it's adequate. And I have definitely had no problem with the way my iPod sounds.
