Given the short timeline, and this:

"In reality, there was relatively little to differentiate the two proposals, and if they can indeed submit a joint proposal next month, it seems certain that the merged specification will be approved by the IEEE 802.11n Task Group - aka TGn - as the foundation for the future standard."

What about a bad review? That could discourage someone from buying something, and that's not really advertising, where the intent is to sell the product. As long as the review is objective, reviewing and advertising are not necessarily synonymous.

While true, they have evolved greatly in that timeframe, so I don't believe the results would accurately reflect the effects of use now. The nature of and amount of radiation emitted has to be quite different between the razor thin flip phones of today versus the shoebox-sized (ok, I'm exaggerating) phones of a decade (or two) ago.

"Wall says Vista will be analyzing traffic to its Web site to see what effect the "Windows Vista" name may have on visitors to the site. If the effect is significant--that is, if a surge of visitors comes to Vista.com looking for information about Windows Vista--the company may decide to take legal actions over the trademark."

Think Slashdot has the power to get the name of the next Windows changed? :)
