It's not true that the a morpheme-centerd system allows for faster processing by the brain, it's just that you're used to it. Greek has a phonetic system and I don't have to pronounce the words mentally before I understand what they are, I've learnt to recognise them by sight, much like anyone does with any language, I assume.
You can use Bochs or DOSbox to emulate an old pc... Both are emulators, so they have a slowdown feature you can use to get the same speed. As for games, I'm sure you can find most of them from abandonware sites, and I have yet to see any that don't play under the emulator.
Seeing this, I wouldn't be surprised if the fans pushed air outwards (away from the wall) instead of the other way around:P

It's interesting how the human mind tries to make sense out of chaos... It's an integral function that helps us survive... Someone sticks two fans on a painting and advertises it on Slashdot, and immediately people will find depth and symbolism in it. Sometimes, it's just a fan.
No, I agree with you 100% (same as when someone wants to get hold of all my phone numbers), I was just pointing out the probable risk. But it is interesting that it is illegal for them to ask it...
Here (Greece) commercials are very clever, and more often than not, funny. OK, it's not like I'd rather watch the commercials than the actual programme, but that's mostly because I have seen the commercials before:P. There are some very funny ads which I cannot get enough of, and many ads become catchphrases.
Although I doubt they would be able to deduce the algorithm, they would be able to perform a Man-in-the-middle attack and get the user to decrypt the bank's generated number and send it back to them, effectively logging them on.
There's a much easier method (which I haven't seen anyone discuss, and which I describe on http://poromenos.blogspot.com/2005/06/authenticati on.html. It involves PGP/GPG to authenticate a user without having them send their password over the wire. It more or less involves the user just signing a random number the site gives him and sending it back to the server. The server then knows beyond a doubt that the person is the one whose public key they have, and the phisher can't steal their password (the person would know they're not supposed to give the password to any sites or anyone except PGP/GPG). Even if they stole one hash, it's still useless.
That would actually be possible, you could read a tape with a normal (modified?) cassette player, capture the stream and write a program to decode it. It was sort of what the drive did anyway, wasn't it?
So this is like RL all over again? I play games to escape from reality, if rich kids can have all the cool eq/chars/whatever in the game as well, what does that leave me with? I might as well be a poor loser somewhere where I don't have to pay money.

How the heck do you type at 120 wpm? Are they real words?:P I just took the typing test and got 82 wpm, and it looked pretty fast to me... 50% faster than that is quite fast.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't just leaving the bucket with the ice in there (or, well, even just the ice) cool the room down as much as making all this? I mean, all the difference in temperature comes from the volume of the melting ice, and that's not changing, is it?
Imagine what proportions piracy will take when everyone can copy their favorite car instead of buying it. That doesn't mean that it won't cost anything, but there probably will be a few objects that will cost more to buy than copy...
Hello,
We are writing to inform you of a vulnerability in the code on page 131 of Agile Web Development with Rails. We have promptly released a 2-page patch which you can order and apply to your book to fix the bug. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.
I am becoming increasingly paranoid about typing passwords in public terminals... I am even reluctant to type my password in a friend's computer... Generally avoid typing your password for anything you don't need while at a public terminal, and if you're REALLY paranoid you could have it written in a file in a USB keychain and pasted (keyloggers don't log pasting, do they?).
"Beg the question" means "avoid the question", and not "creates the question" :P

See http://porocrom.poromenos.org/index.php/category/g uides/english-lessons/ and especially http://porocrom.poromenos.org/index.php/2004/08/19 /english-lessons/, and PLEEEEEASE start using them correctly :(
Are you saying that there are as many websites as continents? That's like, 6, or however many continents we're at this week...

I will forthwith patent a patent system and sue the current patent system for infringing on my patent! Problem solved!

Isn't that illegal? What if the person whose number you used (although unlikely) shows up and sues you?
Quick compared to what? Bank robbery?
Maybe so, but don't count on seeing that on the frontpage :P It's mostly subjective.
Microsoft Corp.'s Excel spreadsheet software
I read that as "Microsoft Corp.'s Excellent spreadsheet software". I thought the world was going to end or something.

Yes!! I was wondering what movie I had seen it in :P
Masturbating without a sense of touch is way better though, it doesn't feel like you're doing it... Not that I'd know! :P
