    Why don't these schools just install linux on their old computers? The performance increase will keep the machines in business. Also it will increase safety and gets rid of malware. Also, people will likely use the computer as it was intended (like, no games in school).

    A lot of sites don't work with Firefox. For example, i couldn't use Sourceforge's 'quick file release'. They write, it works only with a few browsers. If it doesn't work with firefox/mozilla, which browsers it works with?

    It is so mind boggling, Scientology is still considered a religion? The US is the home of a strong christian population which naturally opposes any other religion or wanna-be religion. The people also supposed to be well educated (at least at government level). How could Scientology still proliferate there??? I would not be so stunned if this is in Nigeria, or even Russia.

    One of M$'s largest enterprise customer is Hollywood. So, if you meant DRM by screwing the home users, it fits the big picture.

    This is ridiculous. FOSS (Linux) does not separate user and developer. If there is real demand for some kind of app. then a group of wise enough users will start developing a solution. It is very half-assed to expect the 'linux community' to develop something for you without you doing anything. If you don't like that, buy stuff from M$ or Apple. Chances are you'll be ripped, the software won't exactly do what you need and you'll get locked in the technology. If companies REALLY wanted to migrate to Linux, they would have bought developers to make the transition. Oh, it would then cost them money? So, they don't really want to migrate to Linux, they just want to get something for free. There is nothing for free!!! I personally want to play games on Linux, so instead of bitching and talking trash, i work on a game. That said, i already wasted too much time on you.

    1. I sometimes watch pirated DVD (or downloaded stuff). 2. I am not a USA citizen, so I wouldn't miss my OWN culture. And to be honest, i don't miss Hollywood either. 3. I don't blame people, i'm just realistic. I know many people cannot live without spoon fed by Hollywood stuff. Luckily i'm not one.

    Sadly (oh i'm so very sad) format won't help here. I just wonder how many people will still have their old winxp install CD when they want to recover. Maybe M$ will need more Linux licenses from Novell, because Vista won't sell so hot.

    Why would a supercivilisation build only 8 probes? They could have technology to detect Earth sized planets in the habitable zone. And they could send out hundreds of thousands probes to such planets. The problem is, if they don't have warp speed, these probes would not reach the planets until either the destination is already destroyed, or the sending civilisation itself is destroyed.

    It's called DRM. Probably it doesn't worth too much, especially for people who want to use their computer, but it is really the best thing from the viewpoint of M$, or RIAA, and other similar entities.
