Aside from the controversy, the position is in the spotlight. Using that time to focus on events like this is beneficial and should be encouraged. The sincerity behind the motion matters not.
Life goes on even though there is the impending "threat" of violence. It was an attempt to let us see through this character's (Anthony's) eyes a constant threat, similar to that of many Americans. If you let it consume you, you will end up anxious or worst case scenario, preemptively attacking another country, "God forbid."
It allows us to do things we would NOT do in real life. Like kill... killing is fun when no ones life is on the line.
My question is why can't he be honest and just admit that the game is about enjoying lifes diversions, specifically, illegal ones in a virtual world where no one gets hurt?
If I make a product and you buy it... there is no way I would let you tell me what to do with it! It does not physically harm anyone so there should be NO LAWS regarding its use and development. Don't use it if you don't like it.
I PAID FOR THE GAME. I AUTHORIZED THE GAME AND UPDATED STEAM (ANOTHER 20MB IN ADDITION TO THE 5 CD'S.) I UPDATED HL2 TODAY (ANOTHER 20MB) SO I COULD FINALLY PLAY IT. I CLOSED MY CONNECTION (I DO NOT LIKE MY GAMING PC ONLINE.) I DOUBLE, TRIPLE, QOUDROUPLE, ETC, ETC, CHECKED MY SETTINGS SO I COULD PLAY IN "OFFLINE" MODE. I CANNOT. THE EXACT ERROR IS... Steam - Error This operation cannot be completed when Steam is in offline mode.
I will never buy VALVe software again, I don't care if they make a game where Trent Reznor comes to my house to party while Britney Spears* gives you head if you buy the game.
It says nothing of requiring 40MB or download to update steam and HL2. It is also mentioned in the "quick reference card" that there is an "offline" mode, but they don't mention that even after the 40MB update, it doesn't work. I know, I have tried it. I don't like keeping my gaming machine online. Horrible to put paying customer's through this. I am no longer a customer.
You DO have to be connected as the "Offline" mode doesn't work. I know as I have tried it. I want to play the storyline mode and I don't want to keep my "gaming" computer online. This is such a hassle for someone who actually purchases games and this is my REWARD. There is also the issue of downloading the initial 20MB to update steam and the install. Then the registration and then the update to the game which was another 20MB, none of these are options either, you must update to play. Then those updates don't even allow "Offline" mode to work. This is all unacceptable after so many delays. The game should work properly and does not. VALVe has lost another paying customer. c1one

Not having my coffee yet, my mind entered a warp zone like when your eyes can't focus on the wall.

This is a ridiculous read and I am appalled that it is on the front page... there must 100s of more worthy submissions.

I have rarely read something so true: "Security != Least Exploited" quoted from Anonymous Coward.
VALVe should take some hints from Blizzard.
