    I wish wikipedia would split off into many websites,each focused on one large category(e.g. Astronomy wiki) and central search engine to get the information from this wiki network.

    Simply creating a script which drops all idle connections after 15 minutes(and blocking/removing RST functionality) would solve it as well if implemented on both ends.The problem is the remote end.
    RST/FIN is useful in "non-hostile" networks.

    Excellent post.I'd add only that scientific method is more trusted then any other research methods and experience,because its officially supported by the scientific institutions.The "Mainstream Science"
    is ridden with bureaucracy and dogmatic thinking.Their power is "power by decree",
    They are very organized and wield alot of influence on every aspect of science(and receive the majority of funding for it).

    Pong has great replay value yes,but today its niche is overtaken by arcade flash games
    and whatever is invented 20 years ago can be replicated in flash.
    Today game have more content,and use the graphics which pong cannot exploit to have better gaming expirience.
    A 8bit pong game and 3d,lightmapped pong with full physical 3d models would be the same concept game.This concept has it time,like tetris.The fad is over.
    If anyone wanted to play pong he would goto miniclip or download an old ROM.
    Replay value=Does not means people will spend their lives to play some crappy but addictive game(although some do).
    In meantime,the replay value and novelty ceases to be dominant and it becomes another old game.The pong just doesn't suffer as badly as other games because of simplicity.

    I wouldn't call that incomprehensible.You have to be in special conditions and environment to "progress" .When day-to-day survival is #1 priority,research and production of technological artifacts would be severely limited.Their life quality could be on the par of central africa today.Besides it requires a leap in thinking to "invent" methods which would work.
      Agriculture and technology would be
    common sense to us,but not to them.
    They probably just thought of it as edible plants.

    Emulated Nes/mega/snes games? Mostly 2d.
    I don't see any decline in these categories.

    If i wanted clear articles and order i'll read britannica or dictionary.com.I want facts, more= better. Removing information because its written in bad style/non-notable/original research is one of major mistakes of wikipedia and will eventually lead to its decline.
    All it requires is a server cluster,a copy of wiki, minimum rules and some advertisement.

    Its more "can I afford to download this and that without running out of space"
    even with modest broadband you can get 20-30 Gigabytes daily,with disk space being the only limit.Movies,music,games and miscellaneous userdata which tends to grow unbounded with each new program(e.g. photoshop drafts) .
