I have to admit that I have never used a Mac and I really don't know much about them... Saying that can anyone give me a quick/fast explanation of the major difference between Macs and PCs? If I am going to pay a lot for a PC then I am gonna make sure that I am paying because the functionality is there (like buying Alienware of FNW for gaming), but it seems to me that people are inclined to say Macs are just more expensive because they are Macs?
If you love the work that you do and don't mind getting overly engrossed in it then it is not so bad working the long hours, but simply preparing students for the drudge and grind of the real-life workplace because it simply is the way it is just plain sucks IMO. Get them excited about their careers and then let them decide if they want to burn themselves out instead of preconditioning them for it.
Be wary of their use of the word "contractor" because in many cases it will be more like a temp job than an individual contracting position. Is the position itself (full-time as well) contract based (maybe a 5-year govt. contract or something of the like) or will you simply be filling a slot and making money for the smaller hiring company?
In past cases where this has come up for me I have feigned disinterest in working as a "contractor" because it was more like a temp position and they have pressed on and said "Oh we can get you full-time to start then no problem." They just want to make money off of you for a set amount of time (probably 3 months or so). If you take the job and they are adamant that you will get hired on full-time then get that in writing from them with a firm date set for the full-time transition. Otherwise you may be screwing yourself.
They should do like they did with Television tax and start taxing people for the amount of radios and other RF based devices they own! They could make a bundle! Also I believe they should up the tax on petrol you British folks pay as well because 75% of the price being tax is just not expensive enough lol...
I can't imagine shelling out another couple hundred bucks for another XT pro and then shelling out even more money for a more robust power supply and better cooling as well. Its prolly great for those who can afford it, but I know I won't be doubling up anytime soon.
Yes you are right. Geosynchronous/Geostationary can only be over/near the Equator, but I was referring to the footprint and not the vehicle itself. Should have made it clearer so the flamelords wouldn't have an opportunity to vent.
Thanks for the reply. Thats what it looked like when I initially read the articles, but as you said the bulk of the reporting has been crappy thus far (especially from ad agency!)
I heard Marvel is going to sue the creators of the GPL due to the fact that various words and phrases from the document can be mixed around and formed into well-known Marvel comic-book hero quotes.
I agree with the overarching point that I believe politically Pakistan has the potential to be a bit more of a powder-keg than India, but both countries have both inherently good and bad practices. India for example (if I remember correctly, which is often not the case) was spotlighted for numerous accepted Acid-burn attacks on women from Indian men because of marriage issues (basically very young girls not wanting to marry older men so the older men would throw acid on them scarring them for life.)
I would almost expect a similar competitive announcement from Pakistan in the next few days and a debate over a launch site in Kashmir.
In other news NASA has planned to outsource its scientists from India due to cheaper labor costs!
Still don't understand why they are calling this the Bofra attack? It appears the only likeness to Bofra is the fact that the server which users were redirected to exploited the Iframe BO vulnerability that the Bofra worm also happens to use. Also "install the exploit type"? How about some reporting of what was actually loaded or attempted to be loaded after an end-user's box was successfully exploited!
The vagueness of the report has me a little confused. It looks to me like the Load Balancer got hacked and someone loaded some malcode on it that took advantage of end users via the IFrame BO exploit, which Bofra also exploits. Did the attacker load Bofra onto the ad server or are they misreporting this as a virus. Also what was the compromised server trying to upload onto victims machines? (This sort of reminds me of the EBay/Kelly Blue Book/MLB web site hack using a cross domain exploit)

Now I have a mental image I can bring forth when I see someone talking on the cell phone in a movie theater or when I out at a nice restaurant.

BT is going to sue Google because it links to documents about frequencies they own and ways to degrade those frequencies!
That should get him at least 2% more on the ol' annual review...
Good review, but still funny that its his boss's book lol.

Damn forgot about the processing power. Guess I won't be able to use my spare P2 400 MHz box.
Maybe now I will be finally able to afford the tools necessary to start my own clone army!

Taco Bell could have put a big target out in the South Pacific and if it hit it we would have all won free tacos!
