My ISP has a 150Gb limit too. When we moved here it was unlimited. Then the ISP proposed a 30Gb monthly limit. After a local campaign, they acted like they were going to go bankrupt after upping it to 100Gb. Now it's 150Gb. I called them when the 100Gb limit came in and asked them how I was meant to use Netflix and the like with 100Gb. their answer was to use their own VOD system. To me, there's the heart of the matter - it's not the cost of transport, it's protecting their own revenue from online competitors. BTW, this ISP (Bend Broadband) is in Mr. Wydens district and he was receptive to complaints about their data caps.
Agreed. The Sky at Night was a huge influence on me in the late 60s and 70s. Probably one of the biggest causes of me going down the science route at university and why I have a collection of 4 telescopes and various pairs of binoculars. Thanks Patrick.
Showing a suicide live on air is, in my opinion, going to far. The feed should have been cut earlier. On the other hand, the local media in my current home town has a policy of ignoring suicides completely and there have been some which would have been reasonably high profile if anyone had known. The suicide rate here is over 3 times the national average but the issue is swept under the carpet in case it takes away from our sunny, happy image and damages tourism. My concern is that it takes away awareness of the problem and leads to fewer resources for those who feel suicidal.
We tried this where I work. You would think it would be easy. Just set a key and put a notice up with the key on it. Forget it. It was way beyond the ability of most of our visitors to input a simple key, just a simple pass phrase. After a week of people complaining, the boss decided we should go back to fully open guest wireless access.
Imperial or US? Remember, there's 8 pints to an Imperial gallon and only 6 pints in a US gallon. Also, my Prius averages 52mpg or so according to the dash display. Calculating it manually gives me closer to 45mpg (US). Still pretty impressive, but the Toyota display still seems optimistic.
I sat next to a relief pilot on a United flight from PHX to SFO. He talked on his cell phone from the moment we got on, until he lost his signal after takeoff. As soon as he got a signal again, he was talking all through the approach and landing. He still had it stuck to his ear as we walked off the plane. The cabin crew didn't say a word to him.
You may jest, but this is my backup plan. As a UK citizen in the US, I hope to make it on the plane and back to Blighty if I get seriously ill. My $780 a month private health insurance is bugger-all use most of the time. With deductibles and doctors who don't seem to be able to diagnose anything without $20k worth of tests, it costs me an arm and a leg.
So where does your state come on this list? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/parent-cafe-election-politics/802116-how-much-does-your-state-get-federal-government.html. Looks like the non-"flyover" states get a lot less back from the Federal government than they put in. Let's face it, if the U.S. could keep the western sea-board and then north-east and ditch the rest, the country would be in a lot better shape.
As for Europeans and fly-over, where I come from fly-over means an overpass. Last I checked, my home country was part of Europe and we never use that term.
We managed a staggering 67F yesterday. Saturday did manage to struggle to 73F before some rain brought the temp back down to 64F. Today should get to 72F. At 14:40pm, it's 65F. As for overnight lows, anywhere from 36F to 45F. The local ski resort was open last weekend into the bargain.
I think you'll find the lack of "cool old architecture" is down to the actions of the Allies in WW2, unless you consider "knocked down" being an end result of having a 10,000 lb bomb dropped on it from a great height.
You're a little out of date. It took me a year and a half and plenty of money to get my visa and that was a pretty cut-and-dried case. My wife is a U.S. citizen and we lived in the U.K. for 8 years straight after our marriage. Trust me, getting a legal immigrant visa for the U.S. is no easy matter. Go and have a look at the U.S. immigration forums at http://www.britishexpats.com/ sometime.

Why does the Daily Mail get so much press on the internet?
You never see slashdot quoting the Weekly World News about the latest exploits of Batboy.
Maybe because it's the most visited newspaper website there is? Not that that legitimizes their reporting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mail_Online

Well, the longer you're there, diverse it gets....
I agree, I have quite a few robotic machines running xp,
So do I, but that's enough about HR...

Find a technical solution, not a legal "solution"
Drone strike?
Yep. My local ISP offers a 60 Mbps tier. The problem is, it comes with a 150Gb cap, and a $90 per month price tag.

Just as well it wasn't in Wales. They don't like pediatricians either; http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2000/08/30/pedophiles000830.html
From the frequent "how to I open a screenshot" posts that used to appear in the WoW TS forum, I suspect it was changed to lower support calls.

Take a hop over to http://britishexpats.com./ You'll find plenty there. Rightly or wrongly, most Brits see health care as a right, not a privilege.

As I say to people, intermittent wipe means I'm turning left and fast wipe means I'm turning right.
Dare I suggest Ron Wyden as a start? Not perfect, but at least he appears to be aware of privacy issues. http://www.justice-integrity.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=648:senator-wyden-fights-lonely-battle-to-protect-your-privacy&catid=44:myblog
I don't need to see individual hairs on the back of my character's neck stand up when he gets shot in the face.
I'd keep him away from Dick Cheney then.
I'm assuming this is a rhetorical question................

Amazon Prime has Top Gear UK up to Season 17.
