A little education for you, India was made on the same grounds as US. Before British invasion India was multiple Kingdoms with their own language culture. British rule was able to bring all of these small states as one. This however changed nothing in the language people spoke. When we got our independence we started annexing these states. The last state annexed was in the 60's was GOA from Portugal. Now for a interesting fact even though the Govt tries to push Hindi as the National language but South India refuses to speak that language. So we have a big country where if you cross a state border you land somewhere where even the street signs are unreadable because it is in a local language. Now we have technically more than 22 languages but the process of making a Dialect into a language is retarded at best. For example Bhojpuri is a language that is spoken in Surinam, Maurititius and other carribean countries. When it comes to India Bhojpuri is a dialect. To answer the retard who thought Indian spell wrongly get your facts right, TOEFL and GRE English India scores the highest every time. Besides British English is not always thought as gramatically correct in US.

The people managing the operations were high school pass. And they used to joke all the time "Oh yeah someone in Germany is uploading movies on the computer" Yeah just delete those movies and we should be OK. 11. Re Spending Money on Poor People on Indian Moon Mission to Have Landing Component · · Score: 4, Insightful

Wait a second, this is 101% wrong. India does spend money on poor. But as you know for spending money you need to generate it first. And no indian satellite program is used for "educational" purposes unlike western countries.
Now coming to Western countries, well in the name of free trade agreement all the western countries have done is to ensure that the latest technologies are so costly that developing countries are forced not to use it. The whole Drug patent thing that India had to subscribe to made our generic drugs costlier than what a person would earn in a whole months of work.
In terms of technology transfers it is pathetic even mundane things like a microwave oven is a thing of luxury for many Indians.
Talk about environment we have all the players like Mercedes, Chevvy, Hyundai, Toyota none of the companies give clean cars to India. If they do its cost is equal to 20 years of a common mans salary.
Moral of the story If the western counrtries dont help us we help ourselves.

  13. Re Piracy on Operation Fastlink Nets 1000s in Pirate Sting · · Score: 0

The Software companies are themselves to blame for Piracy. I know from a couple of MS OEM retailers in India, their approach was to
    1. Let the Pirated copies of Windows be installed by a user. Let him be used to the it till the time he can not make a switch back to an alternative.
    2. Go and ask for a ridiculus licensing fee, threatening to take action if not complied.

I worked for a steel company and fortunately our Net Admin was a smart ass. When MS came asking for a huge licensing fee, he bought 300 licenses of MS Office for the (Computer Dumb) execs. And he made rest of us learn Star Office 5. When MS Vendor came to know of this they came up with niceties like bulk discount and free training.

The whole point here I am trying to make is Software industry is not so honest as the RIAA or MPAA to stop the trade of their products.

  14. Makes Sense to me on Huge Parachute Saves Crashing Planes · · Score: 0

What never made sense to me on my my multiple flights was how rediculus the Safety system aboard many flights we have. Conventional wisdom says if you are flying in air you need something for survival when god-forbid something happens to you that works i air and not water. However it is just the opposite , even if you fly from two airports with no water body in between, the first thing you hear is how to use a lifejacket. C'mon now by the time someone would crash, he wont be alive to float and bolw the darned whistle for help.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have a parachute/ combination of parachute and lifejacket with each passenger. This would at least give a passenger some protection when they are heading down.

  16. Re Music Sharing on Following up on Torrent Shutdowns · · Score: 0

Bitorrent is a good method for downloading files. So was Kazaa, the main drawback I find with MPAA is its reluctance to accept new technlogy. I mean file sharing is just a method of transport, if DRM and other technology is used with the files we could have another service which would be a source of revenue for the movie industry.

Darn if you want the job come and study Engineering like I did. Another facet is you don't study what you like always. I'd love to study Music if that could get me job.
