    That the name of the site in question is MySpace, not MyParents, or MyGaurdian! I mean, it's called MySpace for a reason and that reason is to let you know how dangerous it is. Duh. When I go to Space I understand that dangerous stuff happens and it is not the responsibility of space to protect me. It isn't the job of the junk flying around in space to watch out for me. I have to protect myself. It's obvious isn't it?

    I have a tendency to believe that humans can err, but are basically good.

    And that last part is where the whole house of cards comes tumbling down. Basically good!? Are you kidding me? Sure there are a lot of people that do good things running around, but mankind is not intrinsically good by any stretch. I am just going to guess that you are either:

    a. very sheltered

    b. very young

    or c. very naive

    I hope you don't find out the truth the hardway.

    I am going to say it anyway. Why can't people stop responding to spam in the first place? Is it too much to ask? If spammers made absolutely zero dollars for their efforts would they stop?     I realize that Apple designs these things for people who aren't familiar with computers, but fuck, it makes it hard for someone that is quite comfy with Linux and Windows configurations.

    Seriously, I'm not trying to troll, but Linux is not really like the flavor of unix Apple has built their OS up from. Maybe you could try delving into the way Darwin and FreeBSD organize their file system.

    Or is it more unethical to have access to information that threatens us all and not say anything for fear that some "bad guy" might use it against us? The truth is that some "bad guy" is already sitting around thinking up ways to to use the information or writing the information down for himself from scratch. Security through obscurity never works for long.

    Every generation has some aspect that is supposedly going to bring utter ruination to the future. And every generation manages to cope. I think we will be allright as long as parents bring some healthy balance to thier kids activities. When has that concept ever been new and fresh? It has always been that way.

    The three parts were first published by Allen & Unwin in 1954-1955, several months apart. They have since been reissued many times by multiple publishers,

    I can't help but think this guy got all hyped up because of an Apple conference and just had to gush over it in print. Not to sound flamish or trollish, but what he fails to take into account is that Linux is seldom sold pre-installed. People generally buy the machine they want and then install linux post purchase. It is short sighted to only take sales into account when comparing OS use.

    ...It has been reported that famous Hollywood producer and director Steven Spielberg has begun work on updating the groundbreaking summer blockbuster "Jaws". Inside sources confirm that Spielberg will be replacing the old scenes of the shark and also any scenes of yellow floating barrels with new and improved CGI versions of the shark. According to insiders "This will blow away the old version". It has already been acknowledged that the original version was not his original "vision" of the film. Spielberg has stated that the only reason the shark was not in most every scene was because of all the mechanical failures. But now with the miracle of CGI we will finally be able to see his original "vision". Spielberg also confirmed that all the original negatives of the 1975 classic will be destroyed after the new original is released.

    But seriously, I think that Microsoft is trying to get third party OSS browser support for Vista so that they can announce it as a feature. "Look, we have great support for the BEST free browsers out there! We are cool and friendly!" It has become obvious to Microsoft that OSS is not going away and that they need to embrace some of the popular choices in an effort to stem the flow away from Linux, etc. Seems pretty obvious to me.

    The article stated that the delay was based in part on the fact that the major open source solutions for odf like OpenOffice do not yet support magnifiers and screen readers needed by people with disabilities. I wonder how long it will take for those functions to become a part of the open source office suites out there? Just a question. I am really hoping Mass will roll out open source office software and prove that it is indeed as robust and useful as Microsoft office. Like that isn't the general attitude around here.

If you go back and read the post to which I responded you would know that yet another AC made some sorry attempt to use the "I knew someone who died during 9/11! We should give up our right to privacy so it never happens again!" routine. Well, my response to that is don't feed me your survivor guilt. I served my country and have every right to expect the constitution to be followed. It's what I served for. So don't expect me to capitulate to your fear mongering fascism "The State is right! They are helping us!" bs. Now, let me educate you, my little AC - don't expect me to care about your opinion of me. You have no idea how I conducted myself while I was in the service.     I fully agree with the sentiment. Nixon resigned under the shadow of impeachment for illegally wiretapping a hotel. One single place. This administration basically wrietapped the entire country. I can't understand why their wasn't more outrage. It saddens me.
