well here's a better example:
Down's Syndrome, also known as trisomy 21, is the result of an extra 21st chromosome. What if our environment somehow changed so that people with this extra chromosome had an advantage? Bam--evolution!
Maybe you haven't heard of this document called the constitution. It says that for us to be at "war," Congress must vote in favor of declaring war. Don't worry, every president since Truman has conveniently forgotten this, too.
eventually someone else would have made the printing press.
eventually someone else would have invented the lightbulb.
eventually someone else would have discovered relativity.
but we recognize the ones that did it best first;-)
If we're having this much trouble switching to a new type of TV, imagine how tough it will be for us to make an IMPORTANT change, like switching from our current automobiles to clearner alternative energy ones.
even if global warming is a myth, concocted by a conspiracy between environmentalists, those dastardly liberals, and the shadowy organization of Jews controlling the media, is it still such a bad thing to try to reduce pollution from cars?
actually i would think that the lightsaber would melt the bullet but not slow its velocity, causing a fast-moving molten lead bullet to pierce his head.
"missing your mom is wrong"
just because anakin missed his mom doesn't mean lucas says its wrong. the story is supposed to show how anakin changed from an innocent little boy missing his mom into Darth Vader--missing his mom isn't a cause
"getting angry at things is bad and makes you a bad person,"
no, acting on anger is bad and makes you a bad person
"if you want to be a hero then relationships are forbidden,"
you could use the same criticism for catholic priests (but lets not go there...) i found this part a bit weird, however, too.
the legacy of great games like halo, splinter cell, KOTOR, jade empire, DOA, ninja gaiden, etc?
sure there have been disappointments (fable, enclave, bloodwake, voodoo vince, Malice, Azurik) but hey, for the first time out, they had an impressive showing. xbox live alone more than warrants a purchase of the console.
unless ps3 or revolution manage to blow me away, i'll be in line on launch day to buy one of these things.
i don't buy it either. i am (or was) a huge nintendo fan (look at my user name), but this is the same line they used 5 years ago before unveiling gamecube and the controller and mario sunshine and whatnot...and what were the great innovations? anaog shouderbutons with a "clik" at the end? i can count the number of games that utilized this effectively on one hand. what was innovative about the launch games for the gamecube? nothing.
i'm glad i bought a gamecube for Metroid Prime, Zelda: Wind Waker, Smash Brothers Melee, and Resident Evil Four. There's probably 3 times as many games on Xbox that I'm glad I played through, and Xbox LIVE alone is the reason why i play Xbox (which is sitting to my left in my room) so much more than my Gamecube (which I've cast off into my little brother's room)
Of course, Nintendo doesn't care. They get enough money from the idiots like me that they can sucker into buying another console just for the next four awesome Nintendo-exclusive games. For gamers, marketshare matters because that leads to more third party support, and more friends with which you can play....but to Nintendo, as long as they're profitable, they don't care (example: online play).
i know this sounds selfish...but i really hope firefox doesn't grow too much. i'll keep telling my friends and family because i don't want them to get stuck with the spyware-infested craphole that is IE....but if it gets a larger marketshare or anything, we can look forward to more pop-ups, viruses, trojans, and explots that target it specifically. hell, even now i'm noticing more and more popups that bypass firefox's anti-popup software
we should land a woman in a g-string with mcdonalds hamburgers on the moon while playing britney spears music and waving the stars and stripes.
god bless america.:D
i can testify to MS AS's effectiveness....i used to run adaware scans every few days and found nothing, but with one scan of MSAS, got about 14 infected files the first time, and 5 more the next day. and since its in the beta stage, it will hopefully only get better. this program is definitely worth using, or at least trying.

Okay. Try standing behind a car and breathing in the exhaust fumes. Then tell me that that stuff is good for the environment.

looks like Ebert has turned to the Light Side :D

wow, for a microsoft console, it looks very apple-ish. i kind of like it...but i'm more interested in seeing the games than the console
Back in the "Dolphin" days, they announced that their new console would be online, too, and look how well that's turned out.
