  1. Cha-ching on Google Battles Fraudulent Clicks · · Score: 3, Interesting

Well, part of it is because their click-throughs are just so lucrative. I mean, I'll click on an AdSense link of my friend's with every new IP I use. (i.e. wherever I go) That's just a few cents a click, but it really adds up.

However, we've yet to see just how aggressively the adjustment affects the amount he's getting paid. We'll see.

  2. I'm just impatient, that's all on Thunderbird 1.0 RC1 Released · · Score: 1, Funny

Aw, damn, and I installed Thunderbird 0.9 on an entire workgroup yesterday. I was waiting until TB1, but I got tired of waiting. :/ That'll teach me, huh?

  3. Re:Oh goodie on Canadian iTunes Music Store Opens · · Score: 0, Offtopic

I'm sure Canadians read Slashdot. Don't think something is useless if you don't care about it.

  4. Re:huh? on Red Hat, Novell To Package Xen · · Score: 1

The Mac version of VPC came long before the PC version of VPC. Microsoft ported the program when they bought Connectix.

  5. It might work on Nintendo Eyeing the Big Screen · · Score: 1

You know, everyone is bashing previous video game movies, but think about it. Nintendo is known far and wide for their quality control (usually sacrificing release dates), so if they are in charge of the Hollywood unit, then we may possibly see good, worthy movies on screen that just happen to share a licence with a wildly popular (or maybe not) video game franchise. I can just see it now...Pikmin: The Movie.

  6. Too much freedom of information on Microsoft Launches Blogging Site · · Score: 2, Funny

"...now you can let Mom know just exactly what happened at that party last night!" How many people are going to tell their mom what happened at the party last night? O.o I mean, that was between me and that blond chick, and only because we were drunk...

  7. Re:Johnny Five ... ALIVE! on Military Robots Get Machine Guns · · Score: 1

    I have a feeling that a Johnny 5 would really enjoy /.

  8. Re:Misnomer? on Three Books On The iPod · · Score: 1

iPod Linux is quite a ways away from being a viable replacement to the iPod software. Believe me, I've tried it out myself. It's quite limited for the time being because of the limitations of the processor, which doesn't do floating point operations. (Or doesn't do them well, I don't quite recall)

  9. Re:All I want to know about the iPod is... on Three Books On The iPod · · Score: 1

Then you probably have either an iPod Mini or a Click Wheel iPod.

  10. Misnomer? on Three Books On The iPod · · Score: 5, Informative

Most of the "hacks" listed are iTunes hacks, so if anything, these books are just misnamed. Because of the restrictive firmware, there is next to nothing the end user can do to modify their iPod, other than adding songs/contacts/calendars/notes. No, you can't add games (unless you count the Notes-driven choose your own adventure-style games.)

  11. About damn time on Energia Reveals New Russian Spacecraft · · Score: 2, Interesting

The Soyuz has been used for how long? I mean, I'm sure there have been internal systems upgrades, but the design is just so old that I thought they'd never change it. Then again, if it ain't broke, why fix it?
