There's a radio station nearby where I live in the Bay Area that also drops such crap on your answering machine. I'd be rather pissed if I only got part of a message because the memory on my answering machine (I've got a digital answering machine, thus I said memory, not tape:) ) ran out because part of it was filled with an ADVERTISEMENT.
2D animation sucks? I think you'd find quite a few otaku (anime fans) who would disagree with you.:)
Yes, I realize that a million others have posted this before I did, but I still think it's worth a post.
PS: Otaku, literally translated, is a derogatory term describing someone so obsessed with something that they shut themselves off from the outside world; however in America the term is usually used to describe a person that likes anime and/or manga a lot, and it doesn't have negative connotations as it does in Japan.
What Cartoon Network shows is not good anime, because they mangle it through censoring and by showing dubs. The shows themselves are good, but by the time they're done with censoring them and by adding insult to injury by showing dubbed versions, they just suck.
I'm not trying to be negative here, but there's nothing worse than a censored dub.:/

Anime Moves To DVD

EX Magazine did an article on VHS vs. LD vs. DVD a while back, so I'd mind as well post a link to it here:
It was announced at the AnimEigo panel at AnimeExpo a few days ago.:)
Anyway, since I need some karma, here are some funny things Robert Woodhead said at the panel:
First, AnimEigo is "famous" for not saying if they have or have not licensed a series, and he was being bombarded with questions of the sort at the panel, so he eventually said: "AnimEigo neither confirms nor denies the licensing of the You're Under Arrest TV series. AnimEigo neither confirms nor denies the existance of AnimEigo or the existance of Japan. This whole Japanese animation thing might just be a figment of your imagination."
Upon a complaint that AnimEigo was going DVD-only: "Buy DVD players, you lazy sons of bitches."
At the start of the panel: "This is the hour where I get to bullshit to you guys."
Talking about Shin's (AnimEigo translator/video touch-up guy) paycheck: "At the studio we have a dial: $100/hour: crappy, $200: ok, $300: decent, $400: good, $500: great, and then in magic marker there's $1100: what Shin wants."
Did we _REALLY_ need a new form of animated graphics? Oh well. Maybe it'll lessen the amount of Java (gag) banner ads that have been appearing lately. D:

BTW, this may sound like flamebait but if it does I didn't mean it to.:)
haha. I live in an area that's lucky to be served by the two worst telco monopolies known to mankind: TCI (which I lovingly refer to as "The Cable Idiots") and Pacific Bell (a.k.a. PacFudge). Don't worry, you're life's not as bad as mine is.;]

The person that invented the "NE1 G0TZ" quote was the same guy that invented the term "Bleemcast": the webmaster of Dave's Classics (now known as The Vintage Gaming Network (www.vintagegaming.com)).
Sega has supported emulation for a _long_ time now. One example of this is that the Sega Smash Pack used KGen (obviously it was licensed from Steve Snake).
Yeah, ZD is full of it. Whenever I start randomly getting one of their magazines for free (for some reason they give you partial subscriptions and then ask if you want to continue them), it goes right into the paper recycling without a second thought.:>
I think the funniest type of ZD magazine issue are those "TIPS" issues.
"I can't find any real content to put in...Oh, I know what to do! TIPZ TIME!!"
Personally, I wouldn't even wipe my ass with stuff from ZD. The magazines they put out are so bad that they don't even deserve to be put in the fireplace.:D
While this is pretty much a troll message, I'd appreciate if this isn't moderated down because I know that there are a LOT of people out there who agree with me.

You're complaining about ZDnet writers being morons? I thought everyone knew this by now.
Three good reasons why Ziff-Davis and ZDnet suck:
1) John C. Dvorak - is the ultimate Internet security person because he has Black Ice. I'll never be able to h4x0r him; he's too l33t for me. 2) Jesse Berst - is just as stupid as Dvorak, but even more loudmouthed. 3) Panjak Chowdry - kisses Microsoft's ass every second he gets. Anyone remember his articles in PCWeek (oh, sorry, now it's eWeek. *snicker*)
Yeah, Sailor Moon couldn't have been screwed up more for American audiences than it was. Congrats (sarcasm noted) to DiC[k] for totally ruining the show.:/ Urusei Yatsura r0x my s0x.

I'm not flaming here, but is 3D animation really the way to go? Look at what happened to Reboot. :/

heh, UY. word. My #2 favorite series. :)
My 1st favorite series is Kimagure Orange Road.

Get a list all of the class A's (I'd assume there's more than one)used by Canada and check the IP of users that try to access the site.
I'm American and I think it's quite funny, actually. :)

Well, now we're going to start seeing a different question on emulation-related IRC channels.
"NE1 G0TZ D4 BL33MC4ST R0MZ?!?!?!?!"
Interestingly enough, one of my friends invented the term "Bleemcast" in 1999, far before there was even speculation on the matter.

Down with ZD. We need Slashdot Publishing, Inc.
Yeah, Patlabor was good stuff.
