  1. A little rectification on Yahoo! Releases Firefox version of Toolbar · · Score: 1
I think it's safe to say most people use Google in their Firefox toolbar search field.
I am using Firefox 1.0 and the search toolbar has a choice of Google, Yahoo, Amazon, eBay, Dictionary.com and Creative Commons to choose from. Notice the little 'G' on the left side of your search box, click on it and you will see. Another thing I would like to mention is that the search bar provided for Google search in Firefox was NOT made by Google but rather by the creators of FireFox. Google's toolbar is still IE only (see the requirements portion) with no FF or Linux versions. Considering this, I think this is a great step for Yahoo. Kudos to them.

Here are some of the announcements that MS might make about Windows Longhorne:

    Before it releases:
    1. It is the most secured Windows ever.
    2. We are trying to eliminate the small bugs so that it provides you trouble free computing.

    After it releases:
    1. Bug discovered was a flaw in Windows core code, needs major security fixes.

    When nothing works:
    1. The problems caused was not entirely Microsoft's fault. The viruses and trojans came from third party softwares.

Octafluoropropane is an odorless halocarbon that meets all requirements of a greenhouse gas: unreactive to OH and ozone, does not photodissociate from either UV or visible light, is insoluble in water, and absorbs in the infrared spectrum.
If the compound does not photodissociate, then will it not form a perpetual cover of green house gases. While this is exactly what the scientists which to achieve in the initial stages, once the planet returns to a habitable temperature, this will raise the temperature further which may result into the temperature becoming way to hot and thus unsuitable for creatures like humans. In other words only chemosynthetic microbes and low level organisms would be able to survive.

  12. A simple but vital question on University Of Calgary To Offer Course On Spam · · Score: 1

Considering that these gradutaes would know the nook and corner of the field which a potential spammer knows by heart and hence as a consequence would be able to stop spam (or device methods to stop it) more effectively, is it not possible that a small percentage of these graduates would be lured into the spam industry. Considering that even 1 % of the graduates gets lured, that would be one out of a 100 qualified people spamming our mailboxes. Think what might happen when the number increases to thousands if other colleges follows suit.
However, we musn't quit after saying just this. I believe that to combat spam in the future, we would need people who are experts in this field, in other words graduates who knows the nooks and corners of spam. And if we look that way then we have to accept the above. Does any /.'ers here know any other way? Are we solving something or just creating another paradox?!
