The keynote mentioned Metro Shortcut Keys. Maybe I am out of touch. But I have not heard about that before. Seems like a step backwards to function keys. Yuck. Why can't Metro use on-screen buttons?
I am on holiday now and am currently uploading the day's photos with SugarSync. Its cheaper per byte than DropBox and has more options. I think some people might find the many options confusing but not Slashdotters. eg you can sync multiple folders. When I was in a remote place with a slow connection (Laos) I found a problem.... the smallest transaction was a file. So it might labor away for an 30 minutes to almost send a 3M file then the connection would drop and resume and it would start again with the same file - ouch.

Get the heaviest BBQ you can afford (and fits into you space). Pay attention first hand - don't use an app. Beer. Success.
If they were truly proactive they would have make sure things were good before giving the work to Foxconn. eg they could have done the work in a country with humane labor laws.
If you say "call my wife" then it might work nicely. With a handful of knowledge about you it can seem like a secretary. Your home city, your work and home address, your fav spectator sport, etc. Then an agent could warn you about traffic problems in your commute. Push out an alert when somebody scores a touchdown/goal in your fav sport etc.
The search now looks nice but is pretty lame. If you search for "one two" (with the quotes)
it will find any message that has one or two. Arg.
No this is the new standard... as per that XKCD comic
http://xkcd.com/927/.
Sounds like Gates rejecting the eReader (because it didn't look like Windows) didn't help things either.
Oops I meant server not browser.
mod_php the Apache module.
It lives in the browser so its fast.
It has a function for nearly everything.
Its syntax is mostly C-like
Does it really take a long time to parse " SELECT * FROM customer" or whatever?
Doesn't prepare() usually precompile selects.

Well yes and no. How much do we hear about people in prison in China for political "crimes".

Something has to replace Facebook. Not this but something has to. I am sure most Slashdotters would prefer some open/free/libre thing. Where is it?!
Nice to hear they are all metric.
The govt can just insist on a common standard. They have the power here.

They are being reactive -- not proactive.
Most offices, POS, warehouses, etc are already going to have power outlets already. You know... to run other stuff.

Yes, a greyed-out "not applicable" version would be useful.

Yes that would be nice, then you can make a script that backs up your stuff with ftp, rsync etc.
What is that a hash of the source code?
Notice that the apps are not full screen. Too desktop-ish.
