This guy has a big UI name but this "genious" paint all open source with the same brush. Personally I think Apache has best GUI every - its easy to read flat file. Open Office, KDE, Gnome are very polisished but lots of stuff isn't.
That's the average. What about the spikes when its 40C?! The blackout happened last August because of electricity usage because of aircons in the heat. Maybe this thing can help prevent another blackout.
There's no need for the movie biz to rely on Microsoft. They can develop their own tech -- then they'll own it. Maybe there's a startup with a system now they can buy.
You can make a program keep running but not show in the task bar by hiding the main window. ie:
ShowWindow(ghwndMain, SW_HIDE);
Programs can hide other programs (security hole but that's another issue). So maybe somebody will write an application that show you all your running apps and give you an easy way to toggle if they are showing or now.
It drives me crazy that I have heard some people say it wasn't bad. It WAS bad. There was nothing good about it. The thing about the water was worse that stupid, of course. How about the aliens who could not get thru a locked pantry door. Why did the aliens make the crop circles anyways (the signs)?
If you ignore the plot holes and look at the "drama" you are faced by very bad acting and people who I could not care about. I wanted these morons to get killed.
Money would be better spent teaching the solders the local langauge, customs and religion. Have you seen those videos of US solders busting into Iraq homes and yelling in English?! Gee I wonder why they hate us. If they are wearing silly hi-tech suits they'll be even more alien.
I agree, there should be a way for the user to disable and hide the features they don't want. For me I want phone and email might be useful. Not much else.
You linked to spamd for BSD. Do know where to find a Linux version. Or the source for that matter.
Thanks.
Are *you* serious?
(Hardly Anybody writes shell scripts for Windows because the shell sucks. But in the Linux/Unix world tons of users write useful shell scripts.
Likewise, if there's a protocol, the applications are easier to write and more people can make them!
Try Miranda. a very nice open source multi IM protocol client. Including Jabber, of course.
An elegant API makes for an elegant UI.
I couldn't help noticed the communication error in your post: /= does not mean "not equals" != does. Your post confused me.

If we are every told we can use the registered name Spam for junk mails always "Piraha". How many junk mails did you get.... many.
You can use Borland Builder and other fine non-Microsoft products.
Well, the g isn't so bad. The g in gaim means that its AIM for Gnome.
On Fedora Core 2:
[root@www me]# g
Display all 224 possibilities? (y or n)
I suppose all aren't Gnome -- there's gzip.

Of course, there are clouds but -- correct me if I am wrong -- the sun rises everyday in every (non artic) place on earth.
How reliable is oil? Iraq shuts oil pipeline for security reasons
Like our existing system isn't extreamly expensive too!

No way I am ever seeing another M. Night movie.
Yeah, airport security makes sense at airports not statues. Talk about not thinking out of the box.
> Repeat after me: the stock market is *not* gambling.
You made your point but why do have to repeat something after you!?
I wonder if they "picked" XP-Embedded because they were given a "grant" from Micosoft.
So everthing is entered in Romanji?
Wow, lets type in a foreign language.
Ooops, yeah I meant 2.6 with Fedora Core 2.
How did you know oh wise one.
I don't suppose there's an easy way to turn in back on?

I especially agree with:
"4. Construct a usable menu editor somewhere so that I can customize my menus"
In Windows you can right click on the Start button
and add something to the menu. No such luck with Gnome 1.6.

Stands for Stop. Hit control-Q to resume.
