I think it's more a matter of him being a new Congressman that's it's a tie breaking vote. It's often easy to predict how a congressman will vote based on his previous voting record. Since he has no previous voting record his vote is considered to be novel. Add to that only 4 Republicans voted for the bill and he replaced a Republican incumbent who most likely would have voted against the bill.

Legal Torrents I would hope there is some kind of Netflix like rating system to filter out all the crappy bands that all they do is cover Lynard Skynard.

You're making it black and white which it's not. If you're a soldier and you constantly get reinforced from your family that the war is a farce and the cause is meaningless... it's going to effect your performance worse regardless of whether you agree with that sentiment. If you can put that out of your head and your friends and family support you without reminding you how the war is meaningless you're going to be able to focus on your missions better. If you want a more accurate statement "Doubt contributes to getting you killed." Doesn't quite have the same punch though.

As long as it has no effect on the civilians I don't care. My friend is in the military and as long as he is over there in Iraq... I'm not going to discuss with him how much I think the war is a farce and how bad his Commander in Chief is. I don't want him to have any doubts about what about he is doing over there (even if he shouldn't be over there in the first place). Doubts get you killed.

You want justice? Fire your lawyer - paying a lawyer is, in most cases, like feeding a cockroach.

As much as I want to agree with that statement... Many of our local governments are set up so it's impossible to not use one. My friends were having an amicable divorce. No disputes, no kids, they just wanted to break it off. So they followed all the rules.. researched all the paperwork required... filled out all the paperwork. All this with no help from the grouchy county employees at the court house. So they went it alone. Guess what they omitted one thing on their paperwork and they have to start the whole process over again and they're out $600. The system is set up in my county so you MUST have a lawyer to get divorced. They were even told by the grouchy civil servants that that it would be stupid not to get a lawyer.

They're dishing out the $1400 this second time for a lawyer. They don't have to do ANYTHING now. They just want to move on with their lives at this point so they gave up and paid that cockroach.

There is one good trend I'm hearing from the nearest major city Philly. People are actually encouraged to not get lawyers for their divorce and there is gov't programs for legal advice to make your paperwork go smoothly.
