    the adults only rating should be used more often...

    its not used because it would mean that the 15 year old with his b-day $$ cant go but the latest gore spiller. if the rating was used more we might actually see parents take a larger intrest in what their kids are playing when the parent themselves has to buy the game vs the teenage kid.

    though it will still do nothing for the idiots that just buy what ever game their kid is begging for and let them play it regardless.

    point taken... i forgot that some euro isps have a cap on usage... being in the us with unlimited access but slow broadband speeds (3 Mb [note the little "b"] down for 50 usd /month) speeds is still kinda nice.

    well i actually think a approtite analogy would be if i set up a web server for a page that only i wanted to view. say some pictures of your girlfriend naked...now unless i protect that site with some sort of authentication, whats to stop you from entering the url and seeing the pictures i took of your girlfriend...

    nothing.

    same sort of deal IMO...

    or what if you play you stero so loud that you neighbors can hear... are you going to call the cops saying that your neighbors stole your sound waves by listening to the music you were playing at a db level loud engough to bring martins here and have them go war of the worlds on the earth... no...

    yeah but it was a week solid.... with little sleep and it left him sick....

    i dont know about you, but i dont have that much time on my hands. after work, school and other obligations like going to the gym (my god a geek that goes to the gym!!!!) and trying to work on my car, girlfriend and bar hopping... i have very little time. infact i have very little time after work alone.

    i never thought it was real... but after learning that it was for sure a fake, its nice to know that some people have that much time on their hands are they dont write spyware...

    in all reality though it just speaks to the fanatical type of fans that nintendo has. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!!

    well i have the new "chronicles of linux" distro with an xvid crypt...wanna trade distros?

    not to mention all releases of the blade distros... blade 1.0 (best imho),
    blade 2.0 (good but not as good as 1.0),
    blade 3.0 (too close to apple if you ask me)

    well ive used AVG (free version), spybot (also free), and zonealarm for a firewall (thats free to), as well as firefox (last time i checked its free) to ensure a clean windows boxen...and the only problem ive had was a tracking cookie i got from a toyota website that was IE only when i decided to "build a car" (which i had to use IE to get btw)...

    that should plaster over any problems in xp...

    as far as software i bought... um... games...

    and there is no need to buy any sort of dvd player app when there is VLC...

    basicaly there is a free version of just about any app out there that you could use sans current games. and maybe video editing now that i think about it... but i dont do any video editing on my windows box...

    you see heres the really funny part...

    im a network admin for the USAF... and we have been mandated to get rid of all boxes that arent windows... and all network equipment that isnt cisco...

    my supervisor and i each got a l.o.r. last week from our commander because we refused to take down the linux box that was doing realtime monitoring or our entire network down to the switch... and we just spent i dont even know how much money replacing perfectly good enterasys routers and switches woth propriatery cisco junk... granted we are still using ipv4, so the ipv6 thing doesnt really matter, but the point is that whoever runs the marketing campaigns for M$ and ci$co, are good at getting dumb people to believe that they are the only way to do things.

    cisco so called self defending networks are still in testing while entersys can give you a demo of their self defending networks if you ask. i have done my home work... mainly because i have to put up with shit coming from the top by people who only see commericals and dont actually work with the equipment...

    and the people in the navy that are resisting the M$ take over are only resisting because some n00b above them mandated that they switch... i fought the law, and the law won...this time. (little do they know that i still use a linux desktop at work)

    1. patent some random technology that in the patent app is so vauge it could be anything devolped with in the nex 5 years...

    2. do nothing with the tech that was just patented cause your company is so broke from getting the patent...

    3. wait 5 years for some company to do something truly inovative and useful with somthing that could be considered your patent only because the original application to the patent office was so vauge, AND THEN SUE THEM!!!

    The maddness will cease when they realize that with the combo of the tcp/ip stack, digitazition (is that even a word?) of any works of any kind, and a world wide network that crosses international borders faster then satalites in space, the genie is out of the bottle, and refuses to be put back in.

    i believe they realize that "they" (read any one who is grasping on to those draconian interpetations) cant stop the digital revolution, but "they" cant find a way to turn it to their favor as long as everybody is still thinking and developing.

    ideas like bit torrent are turly revolutionary... and the fact that its open soucre speaks volumes for the creators vision of his project. and as long as people like cohen have ideas, and can make them a reality, technology and the internet will always change at a pace faster then some people can come to grips with.

    im running a windows box with media player still installed (im too lazy to get rid of it) but i still use VLC as my main player for EVERY THING!!!
