Remember, China is the world safest country. Girl can walk anywhere in any city at 2:00 am. Many senior people volunteer as street guard. Policeman has no gun cause there is no need. Privacy and security are contradicting. Chinese pick security.

Don't see this wave in US or Europe? Of cause not, cause it's in China. I'm Chinese. Even myself can't believe my it even though I go back China every year. I'm proud of that. Yes, we have problems. But everybody has. The key is China is progressing, growing and improving. And what I see, at least in US, is shrinking. Hmm. You can condemn China cause it has problem. But I don't think any average Chinese people care cause they are too busy on making money and enjoying their life. China was never influenced by foreign country from its history. It has its own pace. Even they make tiny profit say $1 on every single item, they will hurt their finger to count the money they made. Think about your kids browsing on the Internet in US. If my son was in China, I felt much better and safer. I see enough craps in US, kids bring gun to shoot teacher (free to own gun), child prono, phone interception, poor people in Katrina, proud to conquer the Iraq which has nothing to do with US. And losing competition with China by complaining job lose, trade deficit and China yuan's exchange rate. What I see is the symptom falling down country. Read history you will realize the fact.
