If they keep talking about Win7 nobody will try to make Vista drivers work well, as in the future model it'll change again. Microsoft is shooting itself in the foot (again).
The worse part is that they ARE the BIGGEST SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT COMPANY IN THE WORLD, and they could fullfill what they promise, and they even could be very ambitious, but something gets lost in the way and they fail.
He meant "Yeah, that'll sell like an iPod that can't play _songs_", and while it is a bit funny, it is not that haha-funny.
Congrats to you, anyway he was talking about Windows, ok?
RIAA knows exactly how to turn customers into criminals, and they really hate the Internet enough to give them free advice... well at a discount rate... I think.
This is big news... you might say: well at least they are helping the same people they drove insane... but no, how do you think the software REALLY behaves? It Mixes photograms with different patients, randomly inserts blue screens of death in movies and as the camera shuts down unexpectedly it turns out that you loose a lot of frames per day... so you never know if it is working or you just get insanely mad... nice way to go Microsoft!!!!
The problem with the record industry is they do not understand how to make profit in the Internet (they should read Slashdot;-). They are lost at sea and they want us to be a hostage to be milked until they figure out a way to get more money.
I have points to mod you up, because your comment is certainly not flamebait... but then I could not reply to you and I think it is important to tell you how wrong you are.
First of all, RIAA does not care about IP, they care about distribution rights. They do not care about the artists as their contracts are always shady and a scam. The problem with RIAA is that their business model does not fit in this new era and they are trying to criminalize everyone of us.
But not content with that, they are suing common people to spread fear. They think everyone in the Internet is a burglar and that they have the right to do ANYTHING to stop us from stealing them. So as the old Sony rootkit did, they can mess with your computer and erase any file in it without a court order as they tried to with the patriotic act of GWB. Their acts of hate escalates so high they are trying to force us to use special devices or DRM so we loose the right to hear a purchased song after a while, or after a number of times we have heard it. Or to restrict us to listen a song we have paid for, only on one device.
Law is made in the interest of society. Society makes the law, not the RIAA. And the RIAA will face the people and this is going to hurt. Oh Yeah!
Please read the article in http://begthequestion.info/ and everything will be clarified to you. We could create another phrase to reflect that such as: "it raises the question" or "the question arisen is"...
About the circular argument... beautiful imagination! Nice to title something...
In your analogy there is something missing: everyone can plant this bush and share the berries with their friends. So, the designer who created the bush looking for a special flavor is not loosing the opportunity to sell, is loosing the expected income of his intellectual work.
Intellectual property does exist in capitalism: it is property.
The problem here is that a group of companies related to the distribution of a good are not finding a way to compete with the internet and the digital culture. They have to reconvert their industries, they have to evolve and adapt. Those who don't evolve expect a political solution, and from time to time, they point us all as if we were criminals.
I think the same: Thunderbird is the best mailer for IMAP. The best thing is the IMAP notification which lets you know pretty fast when a message has arrived the IMAP server.
Thunderbird marks messages for deletion instead of actually deleting them, or moving them to trash. Thunderbird should have a setting to delete immediately or the other mailers should have a way to hide messages marked for deletion.
It's annoying ONLY if you have to use another mailer.
I have installed Sylpheed and it doesn't have anything like IMAP notification... and it's pretty ugly! Thunderbird is the best mailer for IMAP, and if you don't agree, show me the app and I will install it and try it.
I use Thunderbird with IMAP and it works without problems... it's the best IMAP mailer I've found. I'll take a look at Sylphe, do you know if it has IMAP notification? KMAIL is really slow on IMAP and even when I try it once in a while, it takes a long till I get the new mail notification.
Many computers that hardware vendors offers today are under the recommendations to run Vista and yet, they come with Vista.
So, you buy a new computer with Vista, and your old computer with XP is faster. You call your vendor and you ask him to explain. The help-desks can testify: the user satisfaction is low and they tend to blame the vendor. So the assistant tells you that you should add more memory to your computer... you have 512Mb? You should have 1Gb, or maybe 2! And then, only then, your Vista may run at the same speed in a brand new computer!
This is hurting everybody's business, and Microsoft asks vendors for patience: "when the modest computer raise to an Intel Core 2 Duo with 2Gb nobody will remember these days... but until then you have to stand by me!"
You manage a company and your friend is a lawyer. You claim that you have proof that Paris Hilton has stolen you 25 gazillion dollars in ideas and concepts and you sue her. Then Nicole Ritchie gives you some money because she hates Paris. Everybody believes you. You spend all your company's resources on an incredible stupid lawsuit. Your company goes bankruptcy. You split with your friend.
Delisting is the beginning. Then SCO goes down, and Darl... I think he has to go to jail.
The bigger you are, the faster you fall.
totally agree on that...
Microsoft was relying on "increase in computing power" by the time Vista was out and created a monster that everybody hates...
You are missing a big point: nobody else had a System9 emulator.

You were modded flamebait because you should write: first post! Anyway, nice joke.

Who will be suing Novell then?
Darl... is it you? again? You should stop drinking. Seriously.
Not enough if you are running Vista!!!!!
