Bill: "We must delay Vista a few more weeks because Sam the janitor found that if he logged on exactly at 12am, the system would implode and cause a reinstall. Thank god for QC!"
Grunt: "Hey Bill, there is a bug in XP that can totally disable the firewall! How about making an SP3 for XP?"
Bill: "You obviously don't share my vision do you?"
I wonder if Microsoft would force you to buy a new copy of Vista if this was done to a PC running Vista?
Somehow turning your case into a pumpkin seems like a "major upgrade" to me.
Ted you have posted one of the smartest and non-biased posts I have seen in this entire thread.
America is not the nirvana Americans make it out to be. Sure it's got alot of great features and benefits, but you know what? Canada is a separate nation because it doesn't stand for many of the right winged politics the USA stands for. China is a separate nation because they have their own agenda also.
Now, there is a huge difference between Canada and China, but what people need to understand is that not everybody wants to shop at Wal-Mart, eat McDonalds, listen to rap music, and spend 10 hours a day on myspace because they are bored out of their minds in the suburbs.
It is my personal belief that there should be MORE corporate ethics and morales. Companies should be held responsible for their actions. Corporations need to stop being greedy and begin to give back to communities that created their empires.
Just how much will the first organs cost for the first 5-10 years though? $250,000 a piece?
I don't think the technology will be widely available for some time after it's initial implementation.

Here's a sneak peak at the Treo 700W. And yes, the W stands for Windows.

It has been suggested that they will come out with a 700p also (p, standing for PalmOS) but that is yet to be seen.
Hopefully this fixes some of the god-awful problems with the bluetooth and volume controls we saw on the Treo 650.
There aren't any games that require a 7800 SLI configuration and probably won't be for some time. If NVIDIA wasn't worried about releasing a card to wipe out ATI in performance, they could of released the 7800 series in another year or two and everyone would of been happy as pigs in shh.
If Radeon can offer their SLI combination at an affordable price, there's nothing stopping me from saving a few hundred dollers and purchasing a card that generally is in the same era that games are currently in.
Sometimes it's not all about speed, nor price, but value.
When I was your age, I decided not to walk to school uphill both ways 10km in the snow with no shoes to stay home and play games like Donkey Kong Mario Bros 1. Now all you wippersnappers play bling bling games like Quarter Life 2, and Battlefield 2-thousand or something. Hooligans I tell you.
I've noticed this trend ever since the P4S8X which provided BIOSes to fix crashes, but came at a ~10% computer speed reduction when using convential benchmarks. The people who were not crashing were told not to upgrade from the forum communities, where the people who were crashing updated immediately for system stability. It was a mixed blessing as system stability came with a price tag of retarded computer speed performance.
Those were the days, BBSs and 2400 baud modems. Everytime I download something at 10Mb/s, I always remember how it took me 14 minutes to download something at 14.4bps.
Funny thing is, most people who think they are "gods of computers" never even experienced any real computer communities before the mid 1990s and the bubble.
In other news, Google begins development on GOELF.
GOELF is GOogle's Extremely Low Frequency Global Communications system. It will deliver messages to the entire globe to begin the apocalypse in the event of MSN or Yahoo gaining more than 50% of search engine traffic.
Original plans were to have 3400 miles of cable, but a revised plan only includes 84 miles of cable.
[i]Hiring or training people that can write better assembler than a modern compiler is very very difficult.[/i]
Even Intel can't seem to optimize the correct set of instructions for AMD processors on their Intel compiler =)
Websites that require IE only are very unprofessional IMHO.
If I have to use IE to use a website, my opinion about the company's website I'm on is usually changed. In this day in age, you have to be proactive, not reactive.

A pure capitalistic world would be a very grim world indeed.
Funny. But sadly true.

If the server BF2 server that I'm playing on crashes when the magnetic field changes, I'm going to be really pissed!
Did I mention it was 10km in Canadian winters?

minus 273.15 degrees Celcius Sigh.. winter in Canada will be here sooner than later :(
It's not slanted to the right. It's slanted to the left - he wrote upside-down.
Back in the day when I bought computer magazines (at least 2 years ago)
Two years ago is "back in the day?" I thought two years ago felt like yesterday.

I always considered Windows XP a rootkit itself.

Hahaha, that was funny.. I needed that laugh in the morning =)
lol, I can't believe I just used bb code there.

I'd get my wife to argue with him. Somehow she won the arguement to delete WoW from my hd.
You just get owned in BF2 or something?
And which state of the USA are you talking about?

Great!! 90+% availability! Now only 1 in 10 customers will get the 'Sorry, we are trying to save money so we can't take your call right now.' message.
