The RSA-100 challange, which had a strength of 300 bits: "It takes four hours to repeat this factorization using the program Msieve on a 2200 MHz Athlon 64 processor." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSA_numbers#RSA-100
Just looked at it. Indeed, it seems that the windows version is build for a min height of 800px. Anything less and buttons start to disappear.
But if you change the icon size (interface preferences, nothing fancy. Does require a restart, which it doesn't mention) then it will fit as far as I can see.
Using inkscape was a great shock to me, it was usable out of the box, with 0 tutorials! A real usable open source image application. It should be the flagship of FOSS development IMHO.
It's not the single window/multi window that makes GIMP bad. It's the GIMP UI that makes GIMP bad. Every time I tried to use it it found myself fighting the UI. Not a single feature was easy to use, no single element reacts as you expect. I only know 1 worse offender, Blender. Which just mocks you with it's UI.
The process to become a developer is pretty painless (I did it for my own iPod touch, simply to have the potential to do some hacking down the road).
After 3 weeks of mailing with support I gave up. They never got my account working. Painless is not requiring any registration/payment, and supplying the documentation and development software for nothing.
And I only wanted to look at the iPhone api, just to see if the platform would be worth developing for. But this experience told me enough.
The only downside is that the cracked version is only released about a week after the official version.
Not if you live in Europe.
Movie studios finally are starting to get it with global releases. But games, TV series, they are late here. Season 2 of Heroes is airing right here now for example.

Indeed. Modding is great. I learned loads from UT modding. It makes understanding OOP much easier as when you start you can relate 'objects' to ingame stuff that you can see, while later you find out that there are many 'objects' that you cannot see at all. It gives a base for AI, it teaches programming of course, it learns you about debugging and performance.
You don't have to create the next countersstrike or whatever, just make something fun. And it will teach you a lot more then sitting in a classroom.
Any data on how much of those contain pirated music? Any data on how much of those have used google? Any data on how much of those have had a male user in there whole lifetime?
Correlation does not imply causation. Yes, many of the machines (if not all) run windows, but that does not have to mean that Windows is less secure then Linux/BSD/MacOS. Until one of those gets enough market share we will never know for sure which of those is more secure as an OS.
I know it's not a popular statement to make on/. so start modding me down!

Who said that they had a valid license? They are using POP3. And thunderbird is a less target for viruses (which was a huge issue when I replaced it years ago)
You are doing it wrong. On the ignorant user you should just force it. Remove any IE shortcuts and they'll be fine.
I replaced IE with Firefox and Outlook with Thunderbird at my parents years ago. Told them 'the red icon is internet', 'the blue icon is email', and they are happy. The amount of sites that don't work in firefox are limited, and yes, I got lucky with the online banking. That all works in FF. Now if they only learn that they can install java/flash updates without my help then they'll do fine.
I have a copy of the keys to your home. None of your keys are gone. All your stuff is still in your home. All your food is in your fridge. And your bed still smells the same. I only came in and watched a bit of TV. You didn't even know till I told you. So I did nothing wrong?
Or how about this one:
I have your bank codes, which I changed so you cannot access your money. Your money is still there. The amount of money is still the same. Your money is still serving the bank. So I didn't steal anything?
Aquatica is a clone of Flow for a different platform. So someone took a game they liked, changed platform, and released it so the world could enjoy it in a different way.
Clones don't happen because of lack of imagination, but because someone sees more in it then the original developer.
P.S: Any news about the graphic engine update? Last time I tried WoW (1 year ago) it could only use 10-20% of the 2nd core.
3.3 won't bring big GFX upgrades. Cataclysm might, but remember that WoW is also made to run on low end machines. I can run it on a 5 year old laptop at 10FPS on most locations. If you want a visually stunning game you are looking at the wrong one.
The quests, NPCs and quite some other content is handed by the server. And might fall under intellectual property rights. As far as I know not a single MMORPG maker has gone to court with people running private servers. Usually they just send a letter threating action, and most private servers close down on that (as run by a group of friends, most of them don't have the finance or the guts to go to court over something like that)
Some distribute full modified client versions, which is a copyright violation.
But in the end, most private servers are left alone for a simple reason. They are not big enough, and full of people that wouldn't play otherwise.
I've played on a private Ragnarok Online server for years. Lots of fun, met quite a few people there. (Unlike WoW, RO can work with just a small group of people) We never got in trouble for running that server, and we did client distribution with torrents. Private RO servers are way better then the offical thing btw, free, almost no lag, less bugs. They just lack the newest features sometimes, but not having 500ms ping times made up for that.
In the end the server died because there where better alternatives (in MMO land), so a group of us started to play WoW. Now, of our RO group, atleast 10 people have started to play WoW. Offical server, so a private server actually did good for Blizzard in this case.

Brute forcing a 256bit key is impossible in this universe with the laws of physics as we know them
RSA keys up to 768bit have been broken: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSA_Factoring_Challenge

It is possible, take a look at inkscape: http://www.inkscape.org/

Read a 613 page book before trying to write portable C.
I'll just go by experience, thank you. (I write portable C for a living)
Level scripting is usually done in a higher level language than C, and is portable across platforms.
C was designed with platform Independence in mind. 90% of the C code is portable across platforms.

How do I change my password?
Knifes and fire work.
Why do you think I said that? I only said that there could be children on WoW.
Privacy is about keeping your private parts private.
