First, how do we know what he said was true? You, nor I, do now do we? Just like with Joe Paterno and people calling for his job... none of those people knew/know what Joe Paterno was told or knew.
Secondly, the guy also made fake email accounts and what not and sent the address of the blog to her friends, family, employer(s), etc while already having a restraining order.
theres some.places id never ditch paper. Yes i have a pdf version of the FSM (factory service manual) for each of my hondas and nissans. The hondas i also have the printed version (helms) paper back, but just the electronic version for my xterra. When i did the timing belt/water pump etc i didnt have my laptop sitting there scrolling along, i printed the relevant sections on my laser printed and had them on hand for the work.
Same goes for all of the remote starts i do. I have my laptop only to flash the firmware required onto the interface module, but print all guides etc on my printer. Its easier, faster, and wont ruin a computer doing it this way
The Pharmacist can in the States... and they can also pay a large sum of money for a license that actually allows them to "write" prescriptions as well. Pharmacy Techs are really nothing more than take the script, pass the script on (maybe count the pills), tell you it's ready, and ring you out.
My ex-gf went to the University of Pittsburgh for Pharmacology so I got to learn quite a bit about how it all works (and learned more in organic chem than I'd like to or ever had to seeing as I went IT)
It says right in the info box this is an unaccelerated version running (which fits with the video) and they expect to have the accelerated version up and running in a week or so
The sad thing is in the local paper for the smaller town I live in now, there's a call in " opinion line" they print every Saturday. Every week during a high school sports season, and mostly during football, there are people calling in bitching about this that or the other thing.. "we need a new coach, how can our team be 4-4??" Or one bitching about the little league team down here and how all the local towns should form one big league so they'd have a large talent pool to pick from so they could get to the little league world series like the other PA team did this year...
Its crazy. First off, most of the people calling in bitching are from middle of no where poor areas who wouldn't be able to cover the travel expenses as a little league team plays division, region, etc play-offs to even get to the llws.. and as for football, the coach can make a hunch of ok players beat a team of super stars.. yes some coaches are better than others, but the same applies to players. These parents really annoy the shit out of me
No... any in-dash OEM nav unit could be updated via a DVD... so no different than the USB (which when you update the map info it also updates the system firmware). Again, same procedure after market use.. then after market did it via SD Card for those that supported them, and now DVD/USB/etc.
So once again, this Ford trick isn't new.. just a new media vs most other OEMs... but still the same as inserting an update DVD.
Seriously... the article writer and story submitter haven't been involved with or paying attention to autos for the past.. oh.. 10+ years?
Most "recalls" anymore are for flashing the software or programming in the ECU, TCM, BCM, or whatever other module. There's a recent 2007-2010 model year Honda recall for transmissions shifting issues that the fix is flashing new programming into the computer. How is that not software?
Heck, GM radios (yes, made by delco or whoever) come with certain features locked out.. to unlock say the input port to work with XM requires plugging it into the shop computer and basically "flipping some bits" in the radio firmware (for lack of better terms) to enable the feature.
There are older recalls that are just software updates.. and these updates are as much software and done by the car manufacturer as the Ford update (IE: Ford doesn't make the radios, other companies do.. some companies that make OEM radios include: Fujitsu Ten (Eclipse), Panasonic, Delco, Alpine, Pioneer, Becker, Kenwood, JVC... most of that short list I typed out also still make or made after market radios at some point.
But traffic info fed GPS would be close... though the traffic info is broadcast from FM stations and they obviously don't know your location, the GPS system puts that all together for you to figure out what wrecks etc are near by
Animated gifs do work (well hit and miss) in the browser... for some reason sometimes they will play on failblog.org, other times they are just a static images...
The other poster is right.. they've been around as long as the bomb.... and a needless example to.prove your thoughts wrong, would you not consider a Japanese kamikaze pilot a suicide bomber, since they knew before take off what their role was, used the plane as their bomb, and had religious beliefs in what they were doing just like any current bomber?
What impacts does this have on yesterdays article about the judge requiring ex husband and wife or whatever with swapping passwords for facebook in violation of facebooks ToS?
Not sure what Tyan has planned and what the chips can do, but tyan had boards that supported 4 quad core opterons plus you could add a "daughter board" that allowed you to add 4 more (plus more ram slots)
Now that setup using 16 core cpus in an eatx format would be crazy
Mine here hasn't been throttled, and I have comcast at two different locations on two different segments of their networks (in two different towns about 35 minutes apart by car)
Wont help.. trolls will still just Sue for money like they do now, and pay the $1000. Pocket change tobthe IP lawyer trolls hoarding patents with no intention of making anything
The issue is it sounds like it isn't the same quality of service. The cell phone providers are placing caps and other limits in place with claims the networks can't handle the increased demand. So if they are already congested, and people are paying more to have their apps/services bumped ahead of others who are paying the rates imposed to have certain speeds etc, its just a money maker for the cell carriers. Pretty soon you'd have to pay the extra fee just to have the same service quality you had before they offered the boost wince everyone is now doing it.
Think about it as the line skip at an amusement part. When its new and only a few use it, well its ok. But as more and more use it, suddenly the "skip the line" line is now just how the old regular line was, with all the people paying more getting pretty much the same service they had before, and those left in the original line are completely hosed. The only way you can keep this for getting out of control is to place limits on the "line skipping" (Turbo mode), but what incentive does the company have to limit it since everyone will end up paying as the "original line" gets worse and worse, and there's no other real options since the phones are locked, they're most likely under a contract, and I'm sure the other big carrier will end up doing the same thing.
You didnt read the article did you... where he made fake email accounts and sent the blog address to her family, friends, co-workers/employer(s).....
You obviously didnt read the article.

Why not an ereader likethe kindle or nook? Theyre cheaper and better designed for the role

Yup.. just like Nixon and all the others (futurama reference for the win!)
I doubt it gets there "easily"

Except microwaves kill 2.4ghz not 900 mhz
Not just this, but without external antennas the aluminium shells are going to block a good bit.
Intel's second source for 386, 486, etc... AMD

and had you read the article you'd know they even mention the lego one in it

And obviously this was before "Israel" existed...

Only some systems do... if you still run XP systems, exFAT (FAT64) is a no go without additional downloads
