Looks like it's Scintilla based, which means it will be very solid
If for some reason you can't get this working on Windows, there's a Scintilla editor called Scite, also Notepad++ uses it.
What? The version you are talking about is the Starter edition, definitely not designed for the EU/US/Australian markets. I'd imagine it would be W7 Home, or whatever that version is called.
I don't understand all this obsession with "cloud" computing...I don't want to switch to a "software lease" model that sucks $50 out of my wallet year-after-year-after-year. That adds-up to $500 a decade which is plain nuts.
I want ownership.
Don't you think that's exactly why software companies would want a leasing solution?
Don't know, but I was able to access the "blocked" page from a connection here in Australia. Maybe it only gets blocked if the filtering plan goes ahead?
Wouldn't work for premiere series, but I had an idea the other day.
Instead of shows on iTunes coming out after TV, allow people to pre-purchase the whole series, maybe for $30AUD. Really popular shows like Heroes, Lost & 24 would have no problem with this.
Release promo copies & freebies to get people interested in new series.
The background process using your thumbdrive was probably Spotlight indexing. You can set up exclusions in the Spotlight section of System Preferences.
Apparently the "ultimate" setup is MPD + Clients + sound set to output through PulseAudio to multiple speakers. Not sure if PulseAudio compiles on OS X though.
That's pretty nice code, well commented (in English too, as far as I can see). Do you know who developed it?
Then they got ripped off. Even Ask Jeeves outperforms this!
Agreed, you can pry FLACs, and my FLAC enabled copy of lame.exe from my cold, dead hands.
That's because the standard is rubbish. You could sync just fine with a mass storage device.

You can pry my cribbage from my cold, arthritic hands.
Probably Marmite or another variant in NZ.
I don't think rTorrent/libTorrent supports DHT though.

This troll pops up once in a while.
The CustomizeGoogle extension for Firefox can probably blacklist domains as well.
Slashdot: Episode 2, now on Steam.
A whole new meaning to "Boston Tea Party"

Has something changed since Wednesday? I had no problems accessing Wikileaks from an Aussie connection then.

Yes, I know the one - the Slashdot login cookie :)

Thank you. Nice that we have "volunteer" editors, since slashdot doesn't seem to employ them any longer.
They just predicted the financial downturn long before we did, and fired them long, long ago.
You mean "merde!"
...and only on Slashdot can that get modded Insightful.
Except the equivalent here is - "Australians let us all rejoice, for we are young and free..."

http://vinylwarning.com.au/ and http://cdjshop.com/ would like to disagree with you.
