    Interesting. I've had the same types of power management issues from an ASUS motherboard. It works perfectly in Linux though.
    The KT4xx chipsets from a few years back were more troublesome (thanks, DFI!)

    Bad chips happen, bad batches happen. Large batches of bad chips happen (just ask NVIDIA!)

    If you're careful, you can run XP on a 500mhz system comfortably. XP scales up and down fairly well for a MS operating system. XP SP3 is pretty fast on a E6600 dual-core PC. Vista was *not* fast on the same PC Windows 2000 will run on a P133. What will Vista run on, with Aero disabled?

    There's a script around to allow you to light up the red TOSLink LED on the Macbooks as a hdd/net monitor. Unfortunately I don't have a link for you.

    Bah, I would feel sorry for (hah!) the BSA, if they actually sent valid threats^H^H^H^Hnotices. I got one for something I hadn't downloaded. Rang the ISP, they said 3 had come through that hour, all invalid.
