What ever happened to the concept of just ending a subsidy? Period. There will always be hands out for free money. Science, space, the arts, whatever. Why don't we just say, "We're ending the farming subsidy and we're aren't going to give anybody else this money. We're just going to pay down some national debt with it. Or maybe just give the money back to the taxpayers in the form of a tax reduction for the lower classes."
What an honor sir. I never thought you'd reply to me. But since we're on speaking terms now I thought I'd ask what you'd do if I buy an Apple refrigerator and an Apple fucking toilet so Steve Jobs can protect me from your Facebook app's peeping tom feature? What then, Mark Fucking Zuckerberg?
Woah, your ego is approaching that of Jobs. But Facebook is not as cool as Apple. People trust Jobs not to watch their bedroom while they're scrumping their wife. I'm not so sure "Hello, I'm Mark Fuckerberg and I promise I won't abuse your privacy" will be quite as believable.
I'm sure the start-up who wrote up the amazing summary and want investors' money also want us to believe that traditional memory will be all but dead when this comes to market. And that this is a total game changer for the entire memory industry. "Disruptive Technology" blah blah blah...
How come I'm not seeing any reduced costs at all? Inflation is rising. Our national debt is a worldwide joke. Democrats have controlled the government since they took over the House and Senate in 2006. It's time for something different.
Really, Facebook today is in the same boat Apple was in back before Steve Jobs took over. If Zuckerberg put Jobs on his board of directors things would turn around in no time flat. Incorporating some clean Apple branding and incorporating an iFacebook-type theme would garner huge amounts of affection from the disgruntled user-base. They wouldn't even have to change any functionality at all. The flaws and limitations would instantly be re-cast as "design choices" and "limits in place to protect the user experience". And who doesn't love that?
Yea, and how is this different from the fact that the "man-made global warming is settled science" talk is coming from Al Gore who is perfectly positioned to benefit from all the regulation and carbon credits, etc?
Big corporations, huh? So I guess big corporations are just born that way. They don't start as small companies with slim profits or no profit. Nope. Big companies are just born Big and so competitive that it's hard to compete head-to-head with them. Let's just outlaw all big corporations since they are so evil.
I remember entire years of NPR sponsorship for "Sponsored by Amazon Books and Music" that would lead directly into news of Amazon's stock price being questionable given the total lack of profit from quarter to quarter. I remember wondering whether Amazon would ever be profitable. They finally hit critical mass after a decade of running so lean they seemed anemic. Now we're going to tax them back into starvation. Good work. At least we've figured out how to kill off anything we're not smart enough to compete with.
It would be better if everyone was taxed heavily. That way it would be expensive for everyone; instead of the way it is now. Where it's expensive for everyone except Amazon.
In order to offer products at such a value Amazon must operate with the smallest profit margins possible. They don't make much on each product sold. It's the massive volume that enables them to make a profit. Cutting into their margin even a few percentage points will doom them. They can't just swallow the taxes and keep on going. The costs from CA's new law must be passed down-stream. Amazon's biz model can't bear the burden alone.
This is for those folks who don't completely trust 1) the reliability of the cloud or 2) the portability of their data once they commit to a particular cloud service and start working out of the cloud as their primary environment.
Look for a new feature in TakeOut which allows you to restore all your data from an archive. Also look for a new open data portability standard that Google will implement. This will put the onus on Amazon, Facebook and Apple to allow users to freely come and go (and easily take all their data/content with them).
The problem with putting all your stuff in the cloud is that you lose the sense that you still own it since you can't get your hands on it anymore and take it where ever you want. TakeOut solves that.
0bama's not getting any of the Christian's votes. Never has. 0bama won't allow this through because American's as a whole don't understand the concept that each individual owns himself. Most Americans have an underlying belief that it is their right to have a government that has the final say in the decisions of its citizens. 0bama knows this won't be good for his poll numbers, and thus, won't pass it. 0bama would be 100% in favor of making pot legal as long as the federal government has control of it's production, distribution and sale.
Gold plated Monster power cables with LiquidMetal magnetic attachment point. I expect nothing less from Apple. It is rumored that iPhone 5 will have this.
I agree. Politicians these days are dumb as ink. We elect them to do right by us. But they're in the pocket of whoever will make their life comfortable. Just like an ink-pen.
Oh, stop it. You only feel that way because of all the $$$ you threw after Apple products and media. And now are wondering how you fell for it in the first place.
Yep. Leave the decision making to us. You just write the code and don't ask questions.

It's the website spin-off of the revolutionary iPhone app that Apple has.

I'm glad Google & Amazon are not getting bed with big media. I support loosening the strangle-hold on media with every non-Apple purchase I make.
Yea, and how is this different from the fact that the "man-made global warming is settled science" talk is coming from Al Gore who is perfectly positioned to benefit from all the regulation and carbon credits, etc?
California's got more tax-payers than any other state by a long shot and still can't afford to pay it's bills. CA needs the new biz model. Not Amazon.

Free market, I see you do work...

They are not your fucking friend.
Looks like you could use a fucking friend.
"nasties" in the river, huh?

I have a Mac Book. I am above all this nonsense PC people have to deal with.

Again...

Corporations don't pass laws. The political class does.
