I did pretty much the same thing. Got Mac OS X Jaguar via torrents and booted it up on PearPC. Got familiar with the OS and like it a lot. I got my 14" Apple iBook G4 1.42ghz when it came out with Mac OS X Tiger.
I was surprised to see it on SlashDot so early. I immediatly called my girlfriend who is a naturefreak herself at 1:45am. She even got an autographed picture of his family from him.
The Sims series from Maxis are great. Lots of goofy stuff in there, hidden Easter eggs and such.
I've played Sim City 2000 to the modern Sims games. Still great. More and more Easter eggs. Will Wright is a cool guy and adds personality to his games.
