His reason for not liking MacOS were purely technical ones (and really, do you blaim him). It is well known that Carmack has been a long time NeXT fan, which (I think) Steve Jobs used to run. Apple are getting rid of MacOS. JC is behind them and confident that MacOSX will be good.
Okay, so lets assume that spamrecycle.com is the real address. Check this out: "The Spam Recycling Center also makes your Spam available to software companies to improve their spam filter products." Now that to me just seems a little wierd. I mean, they make their money from spam, so is it entirely in their interests to stamp it out?
This whole Metallica thing is ridiculous. Back in the realy 80's, when they actually took off, there was a whole scene based around tape trading. That's how bands became known. People traded the tapes, the band's played gigs, people turned up to the gigs, people bought tapes at the gigs etc. etc. So their whole success is based around the fact that people "traded their art as commodities" and built their reputation up. They would not be where they are today without that. Though why anyone would actually _want_ to listen to the more recent stuff is well beyond me...
I remember reading something about this time last year, that the game would have to sell around 2 million copies just to break even. This was a year ago. And now Eidos are reporting financial problems, what is to become of Romero? I hope we still get to se Deus Ex. Now that really does look like it has 'content'.
this is that Microsoft probably owns any code written by an employee (even in their off hours) because of the non-compete contract they probably signed as a prerequisite of employment but if it came to it, which would stand up? Microsoft's contract with it's employee or the bit of the GPL that states that any GPL'd code in a piece of software automagically makes that software GPL'd.
If you are going to give away a chunk of the plot (the 2 out of 5 lands creature thing), at least have the decency to put *SPOILER* in the subject.
Thanks.
