This. While the many who feel entitled call others entitled and fling grouchiness back and forth...
What a beautiful land, SF & all of US.
May she flourish, along with all of em blokes good, smart, kind, stupid, weird, hate-filled !!
My Nexus 7 is practically useless now. I am considering upcoming Galaxy s2.
or maybe have just one device/phablet like Note or such. But my Galaxy S4 is still going strong so can't justify that expense.
If the position is just a figurehead and to do inane jargon spouting, CTO candidate 1 has it covered. probably same with the CTO candidate 2 too !
Obama may as well not delegate too much.
Seconded. (actually thirded, see post below from La Camiseta, right on spot).
Sun Directory Server is good.
But really, only if you really want to lose AD.
So, wondering if this would be a good time to buy a Dell, before the quality drops ?
If I were to buy, I would rather get a Dell Lattitude (D series) that most other laptops/brands.
"there was not a whole lot of energy devoted to lifting up the world's poor during Bill's three decades at Microsoft"
I dislike MS (& Bill's) tactics in business too, but, this has been happening across ages -
a man makes loads of money over a lifetime by whatever means (sometimes fleecing people/entire races/natural resources/environment), and then sets out on a philanthropical course.
There is no point in belittleing that part. Might as well do something good now.
Alfresco has recently replaced various other doc mgmnt systems across different departments in our company. After a quick evaluation done for my team, I recommended Alfresco over other comparable inhouse-built and OTS software that were in consideration. alfresco was the only open source one being considered ( that was an influence too )
It is a good decision on Adobe's part to have selected Alfresco, and that could have gone really wrong if you consider some proprietary ones out there.
It is difficult to call Yahoo "Innocent" anything, these days. They are just not the same tech company they used to be.
As to whether they will become victim to Microsoft, well then, it will be something they asked for. & a Sad day too.
No, I think things worked out well only when they were together; to the dismay of the legions.
Here's a toast to the best (in technobabble "killer") comic/story/cartoon book ever !! (so says TeaDrunkiX, raises Tea cup, spills a little in the cauldron)
True, Though my hotmail account still get more spam than other email accounts, I still think spam has reduced from what it was. Not sure about their virus scanning, though.
How did you catch those infected one? (..several times when it would have let me download a virus attachment...)You PC virus scanner stopped it ?
Atleast they do use some science, and do apply reason in most, if not all myths they deal with. Anyway, they just create a TV show, and I find their scientific curiousity and readiness to try out things appealing. and that they are not full of any deep religeous/mythological sh**.
Experience in building stuff and making things work take them high above most couch scientists and technoblabbers anyway.
Certainly go over the "Why OSS" and various licenses.
Pick a candidate solution that most people can relate to.
But since the attendees are going to be programmers, there are also possibilities of really picking an OSS product and take up an exercise for hands on involvement (a subset I suppose).
Does anyone know if MAXDB ever helped improve MYSQL in any way ?
Actually, I have wondered if MAXDB will ever have a place, with the way MYSQL has been evolving.
What I understood was that almost all tips given by authot applies, irrespective of release. Anyway, how different can VS2005 really be ? I would like to see some brief information on that (lazy to trudge through MS docs or other dev sites;).
I dont think one day has gone by at work without me looking up some tool or solution or something relevant to tasks at hand (and same most of my peers). This./ addiction could be aproblem though.
As long as one is careful about which sites are visited, as is well. I am kind of sure by now that most of the traffic in average to big sized companies are monitored
What is the point ? District/school officials make some money on this (or throw money around) ? Just provide the kids monitored PCs on the LAN as usual.
I agree. having own portal still is attractive. there is some empowerment or atleast the pretense of it, where I think I am deciding what I should see. though, after I visit my preffered portal(s), I then still spend a few more (work:) hours browsing other sites for news/tech/(cartoons:).....
But then think about it. what does "at risk" mean anyway. That some creep has your credit card info but have not decided to splurge on it yet ?
I think it saying "compromised" would sum it up for the public.
potential students should be encouraged to study in US, not turned away (or more correctly, not make it difficult for them).
If a student enrolls in US to learns in any of the sensitive fields (nuke,bio..etc), does it not help US keep tabs at least. Better that people going to some shady regime for learning the same things.
It is no joke that students are some of the best ambassadors when they go back.
ok, what if someof them don't go back. Still in terms of spreading goodwill, it helps because most of them maintain their contact with family, friends etc.

It looked awesome everytime I saw a 747. It never got old, over the decades.

Well, anyone can. but that reason only seems spur growth of blogs on the other hand.
