I don't know... through sheer persistence, the Xbox has finally become a decent console. Microsoft's biggest problem is its lack of focus. Its marketing is purely reactive, always jumping on "the next big thing" when somebody else demonstrates they can make money doing it, then abandoning the effort a year later when something new comes along. On the plus side, for a software company, Microsoft actually does a decent job of producing hardware... the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard are fairly reliable.
I've said this before. Windows and all applications written for it are designed for a WIMP interface, not a touchscreen. All UI implementation to be completely redesigned and rewritten for for a touchscreen, therefore there is little value in porting Windows to a tablet.
Avatar was a good story, a compelling story that drew you into it, even without the effects. That despite the fact that with the exception of the biologically evolved 'net, there really weren't and new ideas in the entire plot line. The ideas were unoriginal, but put together exceedingly well.
And now they use bullet-time in television commercials. Ho hum. Need more bread and circus to keep us occupied, otherwise we might pause to think about how fucked up the world is right now!
As opposed to the original Tron, which when viewed today totally fails to impress? At the end of the day, it's the story that matters, not the effects. We don't still watch The Wizard of Oz for the great special effects; we watch it because it is a great story. Likewise, Singing In The Rain had some great effects for it's time, but the effects aren't the reason we still watch it. A few years from now Tron Legacy will be totally forgotten, but people will still be using Avatar to show off the capabilities of their 3D home entertainment systems.
Anybody who posts any information to Facebook without the expectation that everybody in the world will eventually be able to access it is an idiot. And please stop posting pictures of me taking bong hits, ok?

Lawyers love to make idle threats and request compensation that they know they have a snowball's chance in hell of actually collecting. It's a bargaining tactic. I'm sure nobody actually expects to have Druge's domain handed over to them, as much as some of us would like to see that happen.
so those areas not receiving city services no longer have to pay city taxes? Yeah, that's what I thought... I'm sorry, but if you are taxing all districts at the same rate but only providing services to certain "select" districts, you ARE going to see massive lawsuits. It's called "discrimination", and public bodies aren't allowed to do it.
I thought the hosts that Stuxnet was targeted at weren't connected to the internet at all, meaning the surge in traffic can only be coming from collateral damage infected hosts. Meaning it is spreading but not really damaging anything.
How about: legalizing the production of porn wherein the actors only _look_ young, but are actually computer generated or of legal age, while still not making it legal to profit from selling kitty porn. Also, enjoin the government to simply refuse to enforce copyright on objectionable material. When the scumbags can only manage to sell one copy before it gets massively duplicated and given away for free, that pretty much removes the profit motive. I'm not saying that profit motivates all kitty porn production, I'm just saying you can prevent some exploitation of children by making it unprofitable. Making it illegal to possess or trade even computer-generated images only makes it more profitable to exploit children to produce real images.
Or attend your local Fashion Institute, where you can be the only straight male in the entire school!

It's an as poor OS for tablets, as Windows Mobile 6.5 is for mobile devices
You misspelled "ass"
There's nothing inherently wrong about running Win7 on a tablet.
Yes there is. A touch screen is NOT the same as a mouse and keyboard.

Yes, it's called a Joymaker, and we're not quite there yet -- the iPhone hasn't replaced currency yet.
It's not mercury that he turns into, it's a mimetic polyalloy, and I still pee myself whenever I see that
Have you tried Depends?
It's called ubiquity. Once something, ANYTHING, is ubiquitous, it is then assumed to be normal, common, and easy.
So Paris Hilton is ubiquitous now?
Prequal, short for prequalification for a loan, what any smart consumer does before they go house hunting. Pre-quality assurance it pre-QA.
Two words: get a life!

That's the thing with 3D. It keeps popping up.
Which is a good thing if you're making porn!

It's "sauce", dammit, "sauce"!!!

Well, the game is afoot I'll take anal bum cover for 7,000.

This is pretty exciting news
for mice.
Dr. Zachary Smith does it again!
How about encouraging paedophiles to wank off to porn instead of molesting actual children?
So I'll go with this: multiplayer games are to single player games as sex is to masturbation.
