    I would assume because the dust cloud around the pulsar that remains from the supernova that created it is slowly spiraling back into it... changes in mass effect angular momentum.

    Half of the comments on that article are by Ms. New herself. Obviously she hasn't hired a lawyer yet, because the first thing a lawyer would do is tell her to STFU... she isn't making herself look like any more fit a parent by showing her ass in public in all these postings... and they're probably admissible in court as evidence that she is continuing to harass and slander her son!

    Doesn't the ATLAS Project count as prior art for this? It basically compiles the code every possible way, runs it, and compares the results to choose the best algorithm. I believe the traditional use of grad students to achieve trial-and-error optimization also should qualify as prior art.

    Why go all the way to Haiti? Catrina did a great number on the US, and there is always a minor sizemic activity, flood, forest fire, or lost persons... yes, HAM are the ones that go out there in those situations and run communications, often with their own equipment and on their own time. Even that parade you watch, the car race, space flight, or other local event may have been fully or in part orchistrated with the aid of HAM Radio operators. There is also significant technology brought out by HAM Radio experiementers--do you like the idea of Lo-Jack? APRS was the pattern for it.
