The developer can't even get the BBFC to give them the reason the game was rejected, and yet you think the reasoning is public. RTFA...

From the article, quoted from the Rockstar statement: (Rockstar are the developers of Manhunt).

The changes necessary in order to publish the game in Britain are unacceptable to us and represent a setback for video games. For the developer to be aware of the changes necessary for the BBFC to give Manhunt 2 a rating implies that the BBFC informed them of exactly what they considered unacceptable. They just don't want to do it.

And, as someone else has noted, the BBFC has only ever denied a rating to one other game (Carmageddon), although that decision was overturned on appeal. And if I remember correctly from the original decision (forgive me for being too busy to google for references, need to catch a train shortly), the BBFC said something about the game having nothing else to it apart form mindless sadistic violence, I think the phrase used was 'no redeemable qualities'.

I'm happy about one thing though, at least the BBFC seems to have based it's decision on a fairly solid foundation, as a fairly quick search on their website reveals the material that htey based their decision on (http://www.bbfc.co.uk/website/Classified.nsf/0/5F0B91FB15D5B748802572FF003BE984?OpenDocument) i.e. a complete playthrough.

Well, in some ways I second this, I'd love to see some new content lower down the levelling ladder, as the old instances and quests can get a little boring after having run through them a lot of times, and they never quite have the same magic redoing them on an alt as they did when you first when in and everything was new and mysterious, but you do need to consider that of the subscribing playerbase, quite a large proportion is at the endgame stage, ok, maybe not Black Temple/Mount Hyjal/etc, but a large proportion are level 70. (Census details)

I'd actually quite like to see some more stuff to do around the karazhan level, for those who aren't really interested in the 25-man stuff, or who can't commit to the time/organisation required. Zul'Aman could be quite good for this, but we shall have to see how it turns out.

    Not really entirely accurate.

Distances on road signs are in miles, yes, loose produce in shops is allowed to be sold in imperial quantities, but all packaged items end to be metric. And also pints for milk and beer. But that's about it.

And that still annoys me, having two systems side by side is almost worse than using just imperial, it makes it very difficult to compare the prices of, for instance, a pre-packaged bag of potatos and 3-4 loose potatos, but then again, maybe the supermarkets would rather we didn't compare their prices.

And worst of all, the children come out of school fully versed in metric, and then have to learn imperial just to make themselves understoood to old people.

I played Ryzom for more than 9 months, roughly from the introduction of the encylopaedia missions to shortly after the introduction of the PvP outposts, and for the most part, I loveed it, and made many friends there, some of whom I am still in contact with on a daily basis. One of the tings I liked most about it was the fact that it was so different to the other games around.

One of the high points in my eyes were the crafting system, which was, Shock! Horror!, more complex than 3a + 2b -> Sword No 5. Enough that best crafters gained a reputation for crafting better items than anyone else, and their items were highly sought after.

Other things that made it nice were the classless system (get bored of tanking? fine, heal instead), and the community that generally took in new players and guided them, with a remarkable lack of "FFS! Noob!".

Even though I've stopped playing, I used to pop my head in from time to time, and it is sad to see it get to this state, especially with the relatively recent addition of player created content (sort of player made instances) but hopefully there is an opportunity here for it to be reborn anew.
