But shouldn't we be working to eliminate those pesky migratory birds; especially since H5N1 is milling about. Mulching birds should be listed a feature, a feature that is part of the fight to stop the bird flu. It could be a War-on-Avian flu, to be waged at sea, stopping migration before it starts. All good now.
That sucks. I keep hoping someone steals my slash-dot nickname -- ta ma de. I doubt anyone will cause it sounds stupid. However it would be funny to see some company go to market with "ta ma de" not knowing that it is slang in Taiwan for "Oh, Shit"
Enjoy the warmer weather. Yesterday, Nov 1, people were in the pool swimming outside. This would have been very chilly 30 years ago in Baltimore.
However, I am a little concerned with the reports that the planet is retaining more energy than is lost to outer-space. If you consider the total energy to be X and the energy lost to space X - Epsilon (E), then you have the equation X > X - E. At some point, if X - E doesn't change to X + E, the planet will become a burnt crisp.
I still think the corners are too sharp. I like the round-over in 4.9 much better. I think the location of the volume slider creates a visual disjointedness. I wish they had brought back the 4.9 look.
I shall rephrase, no one alive today will live long enough to purchase an auto-pilot car. Until legislation is adopted that limits a manufacture's liability, no car builder will knowingly risk being the cause of an accident. If a car crashed on auto-pilot the insurance company would deny the claim based on the fact that the insured was not driving. The claimant's insurance company then files suite against the manufacturer. It doesn't take a legal sooper-genius to see that no sane company would offer a product that has unlimited potential for litigation.
One could argue that the systems will improve and mitigate the risk, however with improved systems comes proportional increases in responsibility. The auto manufactures want the responsibility of an accident to lie solely with the driver, and they are not going to be that driver. If you want an auto-pilot car you will have to build it yourself.
We will never have auto-driving cars available for consumers. The auto-manufactures were developing these systems however, they have tabled the efforts; not from failure, but liability. Auto manufactures want the responsibility of driving to reside totally with the driver. They will not risk a single accident from a system that places the responsibility on the manufacturer.
Why stop there, fuck 300. How about we don't have to die. Why wouldn't the same chemical modifications that would allow for a 300 hundred year lifespan continue to work forever?
I want to lead a torch carrying mob down K Street and sack every lobbyist office and burn every corporate jet at the airport. And this crap that RIAA is up to is just one more reason we really need to do that.
mmmmmmm. delicious. An angry villager march with pitch forks and torches. Oh, how I have been lusting for the.
Quartz graphics. Everything displayed in OSX is a pdf. Every application can save as pdf... all without any additional payements to adobe. Take a screen shot... pdf. From the web browser... print pdf. No matter which application is being used, you can be confident that you can send an electronic document without concern for platform.
get constanly objectified... all because you're a chick.
Not to be overly critical or insensitive, but I think you might be confusing objectification with sexual attraction. Men, in general, are sexually attracted to nearly all women. Women, by default, are on the list of sexual prospects until some behavior or characteristic is deemed intolerable by the suitor.
Along that same vein, virtual rails could be a real plus. If cheap magnets were installed in the highways, then cars outfitted with magnetic pickups could use that as a type of virtual rail, and therefore reduce the complexity of an autonomous vehicle. It would be great for long boring drives down the same road.
I prefer to shop in China. It is a whole lot cheaper than the US and you can buy the same stuff. Travel to and from China is pretty cheap and if you are going to shop its by far the best place to do it. I bought my armani shirts for $10 a peice. However, I wouldn't buy a ro-rex or anything like that. But as far as clothes go, if its a hundred here, then its only ten there -- and I am probably getting jipped.
I hope you get modded up. to bad your post is late. I think you are on to it. Slashdot community has power and doesn't know it. The community is not poor either. Slashdot open up a donation for political action so that we can have our own slashdot-paid lobby. If we each kick in 100 - 1000, that would be like a bazillion dollars or something. We could make it happen.
I don't know... what about... um... uh maybe a... JIHAD. yeah. yeah. a jihad thats the ticket. Uh oh. no thats no good. Gitmo is not the Maldives holiday I was hoping for. Fuck it. I, for one, support the reinstitution of slavery and offer myself for sale. An ebay exclusive, payment to be made the US Treasury.
Here. Here. When I tell people I'm studying Math and Chemistry they always ask, "What are you going to do with that?" I reply, "Computational Chemistry." Needless to say it doesn't make for great cocktail party conversation.
I do wish I was better at math. I can't do row reduction via paper and pencil to save my life, however, I fine when I can use the computer to do the heavy lifting. I figure the smart part is the rationale and set-up. I was really surprised at how helpful linear algebra was in physics.
Studying math, physics, chemistry and... Chinese. Though, at my age I should be contributing to the economy. However, I'm now part of the resilient american worker, working on a 10 year retraining program. If I had to guess, when I'm 45 and finished with the retrain, I will be subjected to age discrimination.
If I get too pissed I might just default on my tax/credit obligations and leave.

Everybody knows all the cool stuff in space is only visible from the southern hemisphere.

Our comrades buy from allofmp3.com; where music is priced by the pound in Ogg.

I have to admit that I do really enjoy my Microsoft wireless mouse, though it is connected to a PowerBook. Kudos to Microsoft for their good mice.

I'm thinking ... small drag chute.
this if I could bail-out at the apex and parachute back ... that would be awesome.
Oh god, please please tell me somebody used this. Is there a blog anywhere with BF stories?
Was this the whole point behind the Piratebay.org?
