And, vibration = change in Kinetic energy, hence the transfer of EM radiation to heat, which the whole uproar is about. More C02 = More heat, same with methane, ethane, etc. just more.

The whole argument about CO2 is silly, man-made CO2 should be reduced. Whether it is the sole cause of global warming is up for debate, however, its increased levels are not helpful.

If one could invent a catalyst that would help produce isooctane, or long chain alkanes, from C02 and water, then that would be sooper-genius and go a long way to establish an equilibrium. Who know's, maybe there is polymerization technique yet to be discovered.

If I were working on this, I'm not, I might look at trying to kick-off an Oxygen radical from CO2 -- just a thought.

Carbon/Oxygen double bonds do absorb IR. If they failed to absorb it then carbonyl groups e.g. aldehydes, ketons, acids, etc. would much harder to identify using Infrared spectroscopy. Specifically Carbon/Oxygen double bonds absorb between 5.5 and 6.25 microns.

Are you confusing the UV absorbtion in C/O double bonds with the UV absorbtion of conjugated C/C double bonds?

I happen to live in a neighborhood where, when my friends leave at night, I give them armed cover to their car. HBO's "Wire" is a fairly accurate portrayal of my city.

I have seen gun-fights, people-shot and have had to take cover. The worst thing that I have heard about, A friend of mine returned to his home and inquired about a barb-a-que smell. As it turned out, someone dowsed his neighbor with lighter fluid and set him ablaze on his front stoop. The torch ended up getting shot in his car as he fled, running over a woman and her child as he died behind the wheel.

It is a very competitive school, though admission is not a real challenge.

There were some students from Johns Hopkins taking summer courses here and they got a good whipping. They came in cocky and left humbled; I think they thought that UMBC, being a step-child state university, would provide them with an easy A. Ha.

A lot of students, once they realize they are actually dumb-asses, resort to serial cheating. Since I'm older, I'm a lot more comfortable with my own idiocy and therefore work harder.

Non-competes cannot prevent you from practicing your trade or seeking employment. They can be enforced for a limited time to prevent you from stealing your employer's customers and they can enforce the company trade secrets.
