I'd say you're answer here is on the right track. It depends on what you are trying to gain from this experiment of running a new OS. If you are looking for something that would help in a job environment, then run Open Solaris for sure. Oracle's wanting to buy Sun shows that Oracle wants to have a complete vertical stack to sell, hardware, OS, and software. Even if Oracle were to drop supporting Open Solaris, it would still give you a great foundation to learn Solaris with, and then you would know how to setup, tune, and maintain the Oracle boxes of the future. It's only a matter of when before Oracle prefers to be running on Solaris again.
I get high bit rate 1080I and P movies off of my directtv rentals every week. (My TV doesn't do 1080p24 only 1080p60 so I can't use the 1080p rentals, but that's a different story)
Are we supposed to have pity on them? After all, they wanted this, they wanted to be the exclusive carrier, to ramp up their business. They didn't update their network when everyone else was, yet they got the exclusive deal. Screws AT&T and all the wireless carriers until they ditch vendor lockin on the phones, and they stop disabling features of a phone to sell back to you as a service.
No, you have full legal recourse to go after an outsourced admin if he steals from you. Why in the hell would you think that there is a difference between an internal and an external employee here? There isn't.
You are right, that the intent is to teach proper coding, data analysis, algorithms, and what not, but that doesn't mean you need to hold onto old complicated languages to do so. What are you more likely to use in the real world? That is what these coding practices should be taught on. No it doesn't have to be the current fad language, but I have yet to see anyone program anything in Fortran anywhere. Yes, I know it is still used in high end simulations, but it isn't in the mainstream at all.
Gaming at home on a wireless mouse is ok, I do notice a slight lag on it compared to wired. But if you ever go to a big gaming tournament or gathering were there are lots of wireless mice in the room, they become useless. I switched back to wired on my gaming rig for those two reasons.
The only way I see to make any money in open source software is through support. It has taken OSS a while to finally compete with the funded developments of the corporate world, but it has in many way. Yes, there are more to catch up but it's happening.
I don't believe that OSS would even die off if the whole corp software world folded. There is a human element of artistic creation that is filled here. I truly believe the future is going to be being the company that knows how to maintain it, and support it. The new stuff will come from the OSS world.
This isn't going to be an overnight change, this will still take a long time if, ever fully realized.
Go read the fair use clause of copyright law. You are dead wrong. You can make backup for yourself, for private use, and you can change medium if you like.
You can not sign away rights permanently, non-competes don't work that way. They have to have a time limit or they are invalid. As to the rest of your dilema, I can't be of much use.
That is the terms of service on the free yourname.dyndns.com accounts. I have used DynDNS to manage my domain names for 8 years now and the only thing I do is sign in once a year or every two years and buy another year or two of service. They have never given my one bit of problem, and they update their records extremely fast.
What about night vision. Blue light is the worst thing you can do to your eyes as far as retaining you night vision. Is this going to make you blind to the road, but awake?
Yes, even the all Intel version. The ION version is definitely better though.

Any phone can be spied on, just ask the NSA

My bluetooth mouse on my XP laptop does that from time to time. I have to stop and restart the bluetooth stack on the laptop to fix it.

Makes me want to start breaking fingers.
Take your base apart and put it back together, I did that, and bent the charging pins up a little. Fixed it for me.
Your smartphone can't hold a candle to my 880. STFU with you stupid proclamations.
Ooooh Oooohh, I bet they tie the subs up at the pier. Like I needed a damn photo to figure that one out.
The only problem I have with FoxIt is we use some PDF forms at work and FoxIt can't do the digital signatures. Other than that, FoxIt is great.

In this case, you are following exactly the INTENT of the fair use clause of copyright and not breaking any laws.
Wow aren't you an arrogant little twat.

Prior art? You can't tell me as long as DB's have been around there is no prior art too invalidate this.
