Good, hopefully alot of people realize they no longer need to update everyone where they are at all times with tweets.... actually there was never a need.
Not really. I work in airborne surveillance and we can accurately snap an image to a few cm very easily. We process them into airphoto-mosaics in near realtime, so i'm sure google would have no problem. Its actually pretty amazing how much performance you can get off a cuda capable mobile graphics card.
just send a check to the people that you are taking the money from in the first place. That would be almost $3000 apiece for every man, woman and child in the USA.
Only problem is half those people would spend the money on big screen TV's. Might help bail out the South Koreans and Japaneses though.
It does seem like a very good scam. Exactly the type of thing that even smart people would fall for. I guess the next step would be to add a fake toll free number to call, and just have it stay on hold forever. If I remember correctly there is a bunch of 1-8!! numbers that are actaully toll lines, but alot of people have been conditioned to think everything in that block are toll free lines. Actually forget the virus, just fake tickets with a toll line sounds like a good scam.
There is alot of people who will just love this. We all know the type. They are the same type who change their facebook status 50 times a day, and twitter about every stupid thing they do. The ones that think everyone cares they are catching a bus to the grocery store, or getting off said bus, or debating what type of juice to buy at grocery store, or almost done shopping at grocery store or... no I still don't fucking care.
Alot of people don't want privacy, they want the opposite, and they will love this.
Here is a hint. Watch the HD channels. For whatever reason they are never edited on Shaw. After all the fuss this year about how the American feeds will be edited to have crappy Tim Horton ads, I was able to watch all the American Ads.
Good thing too, most people at my Superbowl party were more interested in the Ads than the game.
The Canadian one is a joke. Has anyone ever tried to make a complain? They require a company name and valid phone number. So they won't even take your complaint about the robocalls. Since I signed up with all my numbers I get an order of magnitude more calls. I wish I had never signed up.
There's nothing more annoying than running to get the phone, and only hearing a bunch of clicks and nobody answering
Try getting woken up by the phone at 6 am, sleepily picking it up from your nightstand only to hear a recorded message starting with a fogforn.
I think everyone on the Canadian on the DNC list knows what I'm talking about. The number comes in as a 000-000-0000 number and calls a few times a week. Neither of my phone providers will block the number or help. What I have done is added the number to my addrese book, and given it a custom ringer of MUTE.
Its the same as how they have mandated 911 calls do all kinds of crazy stuff to the phone. I know I wouldn't call 911 in certain situations do to the fact that when you do mobile phones make a distinctive "I'm calling the police" chime. I called 911 to report a car break in progress in front of my condo a few months ago and it completely locked my blackberry up afterwards. It came up with a "Emergency Number Called" Message, and wouldn't make or receive calls until I removed the battery. I understand that alot of mobile phones end up dialing the police while in pockets, but I'm guessing that is because phone's are forced to allow emergency calls even when locked. My phone has three options when locked "'Unlock', 'Emergency Call' and 'Cancel', which means its really too easy for it to call 911. There is no way to disable the option. I mean why can't I disable it. There is no law that says I need to cary a mobile phone, so why does it have to have an easy way to make an emergancy call. That should be my choice.
Instead of mandating these things, how about a simple message and then charge me for the call. If I got charged $25 a false call, I would be equally cautios about falsely making these calls.
I get that call on all three of my phones about twice a week. All since I put the number son the DNCL. Whats worse they have a habit of calling very early in the morning. So if your hung over in bed and the phone rings and being alseep you pick it up without seeing the number your poor little head gets blasted by that fucking Foghorn. Neither Telus or Rogers will block it and the people at the DNCL are useless.
Either that or its just an excuse. Her parents might have asked why she wasn't in school, and the computer worked as a convenient excuse to cover that she was just a lazy slag.
globalstar was really good about five years ago and then their equipment went to crap and became unreliable. The compnay I work for had them in our planes, but the service has really goen downhill and we now use a iridium based system.
If Blackberry can do it I'm sure Apple can. The Blackberry pearl is a massive success.
In Canada 'medical research' is an option

If I remember correctly here in Canada, first it asks if you would like to donate all organs or just specifics, then there is another question asking if they cannot be used for transplant can they be used for medical research.
This trend seems to be coming back. I had thought it had gone away, but now many stores ask for my phone number when making a purchase. I normally just rattle off some random number, but I think I'm going to have to memorize one of those offshore toll lines.
California's big problem is they deregulated wholesale electricity, but at the same time didn't allow the utilities to charge their customers more money. So when prices of wholesale electricity went up, the electric and gas utilities got in real trouble. What compounds the problem is that even though these are private companies, the state is somehow involved in all of it. British Columbia got burn around 2001, when California couldn't pay for a large amount of energy. So while you think you should be able to consume more electricity if you have more money its more blurred than that.
Man, I don't know.. they make some pretty crappy cars, I'm not sure I'd trust them to make a decent operating system distribution
Really? From everything I have read the Fiat 500 is an amazing car. It was rumored to be launches in America this year, I wonder if the credit crunch will hurt or help that. If it is released in Canada there is a good chance it will be my next car.
Very true, I know a guy who sells pot. He is always bragging about how much money he makes. I always have a good laugh on the inside because the amount is pretty low. Sure he is making more money than the kids at burger king, but he is in his mid twenties.
I love the timing. The Series Premiere for the new ABC reality show "Homeland Security USA" is tonight. I don't think I'll be watching it, but I have to laugh everytime I see the commercials for it. Maybe its just because when I think of Homeland security I think of the TSA people harassing me at at the airport or the "We have randomly searched your bag for your own protection" letters I find in my luggage occasionally when I fly.

Whats funny is how it blurred the faces in the advertisement, but not the real people.

Only a really 'special' girl is going to be impressed by this. The only thing a girl wants you to make for Valentines day is a dinner reservation.

They must have watched the GoDaddy ad that reinforced the idea that the internet is only for porn.

I'll have to remember that when out drinking and having hard time with my password.
Just zero the disk once and odds are that will be more than good enough for any of your personal data
Chances are if I'm getting rid of a drive its because it died, and now I have lost productive time and possibly work if I don't have a backup.
Smashing the piece of crap to a million bits and then burning to a crisp lets me get a little revenge.
