Marshall, Texas is part of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The district has been criticized for a perceived bias towards plaintiffs in patent infringement lawsuits, including patent trolls and other holders of dubious patents.
Can anyone remember a, probably, fictional German movie from maybe thirty years ago that told the story of someone being hounded/murdered(?) by a massive oil conglomerate for producing a non petrol-burning car?
Are you talking about The Formula? It was an american movie, about a secret Nazi formula for turning coal into oil. The whole beginning is set in Nazi Germany, and then later in the film they return to Germany.
The only grey area I see is public performances of recorded media. I can see if you are a night club playing music, or a community group profiting from showing dvds with a projector. One can argue that profit, or even derived profit, use of recorded media maybe should have to pay a fee. Radio already pays licence fees as far as I know.
2500 feet sounds far too low. In Canada and the US I have found that coverage is good until about 8000' AGL. Sometimes depending on the area you can get coverage up to about 12,000' ALG. You can normally get Data Service as well, although it is somewhat more spotty.
On my current setup I have the option of Span or Dualview. With Span it will maximize across all my screens and I think the taskbar goes across all machines. I run my three 27" Sumsung's in Duelview though as the taskbar is only in the centre and when you maximize it stays within the screen. Works really well as both of the outside monitors use a poor mans kvm (rgb cable, and hit "Source") to connect to a labtop one one side and an eeebox on the other.
I work for a small company, and our two offices don't have the fastest internet connections (Up to 100 Mbps down* / 5 Mbps up*). We have found for anything over two gigabytes its faster to just send via Fed-Ex overnight.
* Up to, but you will never actually get a fraction of this
So I should feel safe using this tool because it allows 'sensitive data' to be stored on some third party website and not on the 'evil facebook servers'? I would rather facebook had it, as at least I know who they are and that I know its insecure.
I think I'll just stick with having my facebook profile as only a mask of myself, and not my entire life. Thanx
Its well and good, but now that mobile phones have been regulated to have a mandatory "Emergency call" feature when locked. I can't even imagine how many false calls they get from this
What is scary is that my blackberry becomes pretty much useless without a battery pull after calling an 911. I'm guessing this is to let the user know when they have accidentally called 911, but its extremely annoying when you do call in a emergency and have your phone bricked afterwards.
Completely agree. Plus I have founded that being able to explain a problem and how to solve it requires a higher level of understand than just being able to do it yourself.
I still can't believe Rockstar had a mandatory recall on a game where you play a criminal, and the games primary objectives including assisinations, pimping, thieving and selling dugs because a third party patch enabled clothed sex scenes. Its almost so daft that I can't believe it. All this uproar over something that everyone does, in a game that glorifies acts thats are illegal almost everywhere and seen as unacceptable by almost everyone on this planet.
"Data usage pay-per-use rate is $.0195/KB, except in Canada where rate is $.015/KB."
My carries (telus) charges the company $8 / MB for my overage on my BB in Canada. Sadly thats much better then it was before a rival launched the iPhone here. Before that we were paying $60/month for a 8MB plan, with $20/GB overage.
I have broke the screen on two blackberries. Should I be be trying to organize a witch hunt? or should I just stop sitting on my phone? The iPhone is very popular right now and is thus getting alot of press. I don't know if this is a real issue, but currently a handful of stories makes me think its like me sitting on my phones.
I had a first generation titanium G4 powerbook. It was a piece of crap. The stress of the monitor opening and closing caused the titanium to crack on four cases. I was lucky to have applecare. The slot loading DVD player also had a habit of scratching disks, and about once a day the surface where your wrists rest would shock you.
I think its a combination of both. But since I'm a condo dweller and my area doesn't have telus TV, shaw knows I have no other option and thus can get away with treating me like crap.
DVR's are still out of the financial reach off many people. Maybe its because i'm fresh out of uni and most of my friends got useless degrees, but in my group of friends I'm the only one with a PVR. Shaw up here in Western Canada still wants $600 for a HD-PVR, which is out of reach of alot of people.
Even with a PVR I find myself watching alot of live television for two reasons. One, you really need to watch sports live. Two, my cable signal is garbage and if watching live a sudden drop out for a second or two is an annoyance, but if I'm watching on on the PVR the recording fails. So while the PVR is great to set a bunch of stuff on season passes and have something to watch in my free time, its just not there... at least from my provider... to depend on for something you 'have to' watch.
Its a good system, but many businesses hate it because it because it allows people to park for long periods. The problem retailers see with allowing remetering is that they don't get new customers. This becomes a problem when street parking becomes comparable in price to lot parking, and people 'working' take spots and not people spending money. I guess the argument is what is the purpose of pay street parking? Is it to provide a revenue for the city? is it to provide a service to those that work/live at that location? or is it a tool to increase commerce?
Where I live in Victoria Canada there is massive problems with old meters being stolen. At any given time about half the meters are headless because someone has stolen them. Parking becomes interesting as first you look for a 'free' spot, and failing that one that still has a metre. The city is now replacing them with a centralized system like that mentioned in the story.
Interesting that a company located in Florida would choose to sue a Japanese company in the seemingly random location of Marshall, Texas.

From TFA: "Photographs from near-space"
Space is considered 73 miles, 20 miles. Is like less than a third of the way. Not what I would say is even "near"

110.9 x 59.8 x 18 (19.55 at thickest part) mm
Thats twice the size of a Blackberry Curve which I already think is a little on the large size.

At least no matter what happens you win ... until you realize you lost more than you won.

They claim they sold to MTV because :"Harmonix has always been about music first -- games are a means to an end for us"
I wish MTV was about music. For at least the last decade its been all trash reality tv and teen celeb gossip.

Budwiser is no longer the number one selling beer in the world. A Chinese beer called Snow now holds that tittle. http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2008/nov/22/china-snow-beer-bud-light
Maybe they can get $25 billion, just like Citigroup, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

I live in Canada in a Condo so I'm out of luck. We don't have cablecard up here, so I'm stuck with the shaw PVR.

Give her an Ikea desk in box, if she reads the instructions she is a woman, if not he is a man.
