I think the people who APPEAR pro-MS are actually people who are simply anti-Linux-fanboy.
If someone observes people continually praising Linux and yet their own efforts to get it to work for them have failed, then it's a common reaction to despise the fanboys/zealots who can see no wrong. Hence, by going after them, they appear to be pro-MS. There's no middle ground in some people's eyes.
The project is considered a failure due to the mass number of cowardly robots forgetting to fire their weapons, instead shouting "NO DISSEMBLE!!!" in the hopes they aren't turned into scrap metal.
However, the project is eventually reborn by turning the bots into chefs for the real troops. One was heard talking to itself:
Number 5: Okay, to make these golden fluffy pancakes... add flour, milk and eggs... Mix thoroughly... [uses his own motor to rotate the mixer - the bowl contents splatter all over the room] Number 5: Ooooo... Still lumpy!
Saving a lot of dough by using Linux on servers makes sense, heck it's fairly obvious to anyone here, that's where it excels.
I think Slashdotters would be more interested in stories that focus on a company switching its desktops to Linux though. Servers running Linux are pretty common. We want news about the desktop front; it would be more newsworthy at least.
The net's acting a little slow here, so until the page loads I'm gonna have to assume that the latest Harry Potter book has "Sexy Photos of Women", which apparently I can browse in my area 100% free. Now this is my kind of book!
Indeed. And remember, Gabe said during the 2003 presentation that the game would have all these funky features like NPCs which would perform actions on their own, but instead they just followed the player, or if on their own just sidestepped occasionally and died the rest of the time.
Still, HL2 did turn out pretty good even with all the stuff they cut out.
(a) Boobies! (b) Game announcements that blew my fucking mind. Everyone remembers the 2003 Half-Life 2 presentation for example, even if it was built on a pile of fake (eg. NPC actions unscripted my ass, but still.)
Sorry... suffering massive packet loss... your post came out rather fragmented. I could only make out the following:
Really my wrist hurts

... Mythbusters Camp.
Heck, they blow up enough stuff there, why not.
You could even have the MB crew there - all the blokes would be chanting "Kari! Kari! Kari!", and Jamie & Adam would just be standing there wondering why they bothered turning up at all.
Anything that encompasses "leet/1337" speak. I was fine with it years ago, but now it's become tiresome.
There are only so many times the phrase "OMG I PWNED J00 N00BZ0RZ LOLOLOLOL" can be uttered over VoIP before you want to punch the little shit in the head.
This is clearly Microsoft suffering a managerial battle of the wills. One half wants to bow down to pressure to reverse the EULA ban on virtulization, while the other half is strong opposed to relenting.
I suspect (hope) that desperation with the lack of popularity of Vista will force Microsoft's hand.
For that matter, how many pirated copies of Vista actually exist? [such negative reaction to it why pirate it?]
One point of reference would be to check the number of seeders/peers on any given torrent site for a particular OEM version of Vista Ultimate, pre-activated.
Last time I checked there were a couple hundred seeders and about a thousand plus peers, keeping in mind of course that once you download a new OS, chances are you're gonna get straight to burning and installing it, which reduces the seeder level a lot.
Funnily enough, I also saw torrents for XP which had HIGHER levels of seeders/peers than Vista. Weird.
No, you're just ignorant and prefer to Microsoft instead.
Everyone who's spent enough time with Vista knows the Experience Score is rated out of 5.9, so her score is pretty decent.

Gah, I can't spell for shit. If that makes things funnier in the process, that's cool. :)

Hmm, do they really think they're gonna be successful in blotting out references to Saturn V info on the web?
Hey, censor-guys, lemme give you an example, see if you follow:

I suppose SunRocket should have followed the wise words of Homer Simpson.
"You tried your best, and you failed miserably. The lesson is: never try."

The last thing I need to hear is an old granny librarian saying "n00b, I totally pwned j00!" to a colleague.
Exercise your GOD-GIVEN RIGHT to stop using the offending ISP take your business elsewhere and.
Failing that, exercise your GOD-GIVEN RIGHT to walk into the ISP's main offices with an automatic shotgun.
I figure that either way, you're not gonna be using that ISP any longer.

Can't we just blame terrorists like always?
*goes back to bed*

Those groups don't representative EA well enough I think. They probably should be renamed as:
You know Italy is doing well for its cultural representation when "Super Mario" is the first thing that springs to mind.
Does this mean that I can validate Ubuntu using my XP CD?
Oh wait...
This would be the first time I've ever see an apparent goatse link rate funny on Slashdot.
:)
Then again, it might not even be goatse, but I'm still too-damn scared to click.
That's not a nerdy photo.
If there were really serious, THIS should have been the embedded image.
Dude, for most of us Slashdot might as well be the planet. So shut up and (sudo) get me a sandwich!
