    Why does this sort of thing not surprise me? I would guess this sort of thing starts at the manufacturers level, where decisions to incorporate protections for the enduser generally default to " no frickin' way " will we install encryption software, this would increase our cost by pennies, and ensure that local law enforcement around the world would actually have to work for their evidence and prove the need to gather same. And of course, as we all know, the moment tech hits the wild, the efforts to play with it begin ... and tools very quickly become available, or are already out there and are put to a new use by the community ... ah well ...

    I'm just a layman but in all fairness, quite frankly in the 80's we simply did not have the tech and the fine / micro measuring tools necessary to conduct this or similar experiments, as well we needed to refine our experiment and hypothesis ...

    yes he is interfering in other people's play by illegally / improperly leveling up with out EARNING it or actually doing it / puttiing in the hours or ( time required and going through the motions ) as others are doing ... cheating.

I think which had communications software from (I believe) zero1Communique and I used to use this lappie as my telephone over the modem, through the built in speakers and microphone to call longdistance, also as my telnet through the bbs and usegroups ...

    good question, but what about tax preparations software for Canadians, or europeans ? is there one generic tax return in the EU, or is it still separate filings for individual nations within the EU?
    I recall several years ago there was quite an uproar about (I believe) quicktax and it bombing machines so you could only do one (usually screwed up at that) install and a mx of 5 returns or some such with draconian (vista like) activation scheme ... has this type of corporate abuse been fixed?

    here in Toronto ... that equates to weeding out the roughly 50,000 drivers who have no idea what a written test or road test ACTUALLY is ... you see, they have never experienced such an animule, and therefore endanger everyone around them, full driver's licenses are proven to be cheap here (around $500), and don't think your jurisdiction is any safer or cleaner - corrupt politicians and corrupt public servants ... weed them out yourselves, thank you, on another note of interest - insurance companies, greatest scam in the history of mankind ... wish I'd thought of it ... now there's an enemy of the state - akin to george w bush ....

    yes, you are correct, most intelligent persons deal in facts, not political correctness ... and yes once again the US is the bad guy ... stop being bad and stay out of other countries business, stop damaging other nations, stop destroying the world around you, get a grip on yourself and deal with the facts for a change ... or are you too self-centered and arrogant, or merely uneducated about the REAL world to deal with the facts?
