All of these new web 2.0 sites are slowing everything down, they often look cluttered, put more stress on the browser, and overall make a crappy expirence. I am happy with 10-20% images and 80-90% text.
Why do the.exe's keep getting bigger and bigger?
Why does firefox 1.5.0.7 take up 32 megs of ram where as 2.0 takes up 48, both with 3 tabs open to the same site? I thought they said it used less memory?
The new theme, it works I guess on Windows with the whole vista thing, but doesn't really work for XP. And its even worse on Mac OSX. They really fudged the mac osx skin big time.
I think I have made 4 or 5 posts on the mozillazine forums and have gotten nothing done about all these issues. Its like my posts are falling on blind eyes.
...is because many universities do this on purpose. This and Engineering are the two departments that insist on weeding out potentials. And they are doing it the wrong way. They are getting rid of CS hopefuls in the first year by creating classes in a much harder than normal fashion, no support or real help for creating programs and a very arrogant and unhelpful staff, except for one dedicated individual.
It seems at the University needs a total overhaul in its CS department as well as new and more dedicated staff.
...but no thicker than it is now. I have 35 gigs out of my 40 used right now with only 6000 songs. Granted some of my library is in 192 mp3 and 256 mp3. But thats the next iPod I will buy.
The highschool facebook is already started. I really dont use it because...well, thats too much. I just use the facebook for a pic, relationship status, and intrests kinda to help people out.
Its like the old days where apple and microsoft was going at it. Feels great. Hopefully apple comes out on top this time though...or both get around 50 percent of the market each.
I have to agree. But laptops in class are very useful also. They allow you to use god forbid "Microsoft Office OneNote". Its actually a pretty nice little prgram. And since I type faster than I can write, plus its neat and if you need to move add in or erase later all you have to do is drag the text. Really nice to study from.
But I do hate those people who jack around and you know they are doing it. If they play a bit of solitare while the class is a bit slow or they already have the notes or they are done...go ahead, but when you can heard them playing while the teacher is trying to teach, it really gets annoying.
I, for one, couldn't care less about the lack of HD-DVD on Xbox 360. I'm going to get an Xbox 360 to play the games, and when in some distant future HD-DVD movies start becoming widely available, I'll get the Xbox upgrade or buy an HD-DVD player.
You think after 5 million people or more bought a 360, they would come out with a differnt format? Think teh Sega 32x and how bad that turned out...
When the intels comes out for the mac platform, and thats the new standard, that means I will have to buy an entirely new box, because my old mac wont support the new intel hardware?
My god. Its horrible. Its hard to use, tabs are terrible, and the layout is more confusing and messy rather than the simple design that they were going for.
Its a ton easier. I use it for searching, news, mail, games, as a yellow pages and looking up movie times.
At this point, and prolly for the next 5 years, yahoo will still be king!
It would be a cold day in hell though. I mean intel powers dell, gateway and most of the HP's that most people buy. Only us nerds buy AMD machines. I just dont think at this point its going to happen.
Just because they are poor, that gives them the right to pirate and only have to pay one dollar for a full copy of windows. Well when longhorn comes out, I will be the first to pirate and put my 1 buck aside when bill asks for it. It will be here and waiting.
Its terrible how bad some teachers are. If they get a problem or something they go back to the book to look for every damn problem. I dunno. Buying the best and then not knowing how to use it is pretty insane. I would much rather use Open Office. It it just as easy to use as microsoft word. But the thing is that they dont want to learn a little. Thats why no one wants to switch to any of the apple os's. They are scared of the unknown.

They are slow and look like crap. Give me a V8 mustang or a vette anyday.
I totally agree. With reading that response, they are acting pretty greedy.
