    --Yep, this explains the problems I was having yesterday with apt-get update / upgrade. However, today things are working fine, so they must have brought 'security' back up somewhere else and either propogated the DNS or kept the same address.

Granted MCD's sells plastic-like food, but their Fish and 99c menu is still pretty good, and they run a lot of charity stuff...

    --As for getting it to work with Linux, since it's USB 2.0 try:

    # For USB 2.0:
    modprobe ehci-hcd
    # For USB 1.1:
    modprobe usb-ohci
    modprobe usb-storage

    --You can also try ' modprobe ' for: sr_mod, usb-storage, usb-ohci, ehci-hcd, sg, sd_mod, scsi_mod

    --I dunno tho, you might have to use a SCSI Generic device with cdrecord. Pop a disk in one of the drives and see if you can mount it on /dev/sgX or /dev/sdX.

    If you want speed, you have to go 68-pin. You're lucky to get 4MB/sec out of a 50-pin.

    And the full-height 8gig 50-pin SCSI drive I bought for $20 or so was so SLOOOOW that it was unusable. Seriously, that thing had about as much speed as my floppy drive. I ended up giving it away.

I have given money to people on the street that looked like they needed it (though they probably did not, or used it for alcohol). I like to help people, but I don't like to be asked to help people.

    --I'm the same way, but I don't mind being asked to help ppl. HOWEVER, this b---h pretty much DEMANDED that he help her, and evidently decided not to pay him afterward for his time and trouble. If it was me answering the phone, I would have told her where to go upfront!

    I still think he could make a case for being paid for his time and expertise, but he should learn a lesson from this and NOT do that again without some money or at least telling the b---h off for her attitude and slamming down the phone.
