--BTW, I become a "football" fan once a year - in January, in fond memory of the Bears win in '85.

--I picked the Raiders to root for at the coin toss (not knowing ANYTHING about how the game is played, the team's history, etc) just because I liked their name. I figured them to win 'cuz they'd be pissed about Fla not having to deal with Winter and all. But they walked on the field expecting the Bucs to fold like NE did in '85 and hand them the win, and Florida started handing them their asses instead.

--So at Halftime (after watching the Bucs play fkg Brilliantly) I made a friendly wager with my Dad, and gave him 6-to-5 odds for the Bucs to pull off the win - because I figured the Raiders were demoralized. And I was right. Oakland didn't make any of their big scores till the 4th quarter; if they had managed to make a comeback in the 3rd, it might have made a difference.

--However, the Bucs were tenaciously holding on to their hard-won lead and not giving an inch. Instead, they were out to take the mile! The only time I cringed at their plays was the few times that they tried to run the ball up the middle. (Puts the poor guy carrying the ball thru unnecessary punishment, when the QB is nailing most every pass like Legolas launching an arrow!)

--Oakland did make some good last-quarter scores to save face, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide. To add insult to injury, Florida jacked up the score again right at the end and sealed the deal beyond all hope.

--Bottom line: Florida wanted the win, and BAD. Oakland didn't bring the right attitude, and it showed. I called it right at Halftime, and won the fiver off my Dad. :)
