Get a nVidia chipset that can support SLI. Buy one "second-from-the-top" video card for today (8800 GTS or GTX) and when it becomes obsolete, pick up a second one from the bargain bin.
Yeah I thought that would be a good idea when I bought my PC a few years ago. Got myself a 7800GTX and then a few months later they replaced them with the 7900, so no SLI upgrade for me. Though to be honest I can't say I mind too much. Its 3 years later and I can still run everything I've thrown at it perfectly fine.
Make copyright perpetual. Also make copyright holders pay rates to keep their copyrights.
Then when the work becomes unprofitable, it will enter public domain.
Thats not why there is no collision detection in WoW. You already know what objects are nearby - the server
isn't sending you location data for every person currently logged on. There is no collision detection because
otherwise a whole bunch of jerks are going to line up in a row to stop people from getting to where they want
to go.
Ummm... I'm running 2000 right now, on multiple monitors. They run at different resolutions just fine.
Not sure about the dialog issue, other than that I've never seen it.
I really don't understand why anyone would think Sony were dropping the price temporarily and then going to hike it back up. Well I wouldn't have thought so until you mentioned it. After all, Sony have done a lot of strange things this generation. Though I do admit that they seem to be trying to fix it.
I guarantee that the unbundling of Windows from PCs in the EU will have no effect on Microsoft's sales just because people will use what they are comfortable with. This may well be the case, but it really has nothing to do with anything. The unbundling is intended to ensure a level playing field, not to ensure a drop in the Windows market share.
Oh quit mincing words. If you are no longer legally able to, then you don't have the right to.
Now lets all fight for Stan's right to have babies, even though he can't, not haveing a womb, which is no-ones fault - not even the Romans'.
As a counterpoint, I recently bought a laptop with an ATI vid chip. No, I didn't have 3D accel working immediately, but all I had to do was click on "System"->"Admin"->"Manage Restricted drivers" (I'm using Ubuntu). I restarted my x server and I was good to go.
Yeah thats what I had to do too. Then I couldn't play videos, and I couldn't sleep my laptop. So now whenever I want to do 3D, I get to go through this process, and then undo it when I'm done.
Never mind the fact that he wasn't comparing them like that at all, but isn't the PS2 outselling the 360? This would suggest that this is exactly what is happening.
From my experience, Visual Studio's intellisense is pretty good when programming in.NET.
However, its terrible for C++. It frequently decides to lose scope information, which then
makes the entire tool completely useless. Even when it does work, it doesn't remember the
last used variable like it does in.NET.
I haven't used Eclipse much, and only with Python, but from memory I thought that it did
remember the last variable used, but that might have been some other IDE I was experimenting
with.

Since IP is government granted 'property', it seems that it should be the most eligible type to be taxed.

What's the deal with the headline? Am I missing something?
If you take away the games, then I guess the best one is whichever makes the best paperweight.
Actually they already have special SATA power cables. They have a similar connector to the data cable. So all thats left is fans...
If nobody owns the IP, then who is going to sue you for distributing it?
According to The Age they have licenced the rights to online versions of Scrabble to EA.

I think the idea is that the Best Buy people should check it when it is being returned, not that you should check it when you are purchasing it.

Windows is the annoying friend that spunges off you for handouts and crashes on your couch On your couch? Mine crashes under my desk.

Thats why its a benefit to open source their drivers - then they can sell to these people without having to do this work.

Come on! That post is dying for an informative mod!

Thats OK. They operate in Australia, New Zealand AND Tasmania.
