    It makes no sense why anyone would put all this effort and energy into building this simulation. Energy is a limited resource. Whatever beings are harvesting the energy will use it to keep up and spread out themselves.
    This thought is the result of the current abundance of resources on Earth, but this is just a temporary state. It has always been, and the end is already in sight.

    I see how a noise signal will jam a phased array radar. But what about a conventional moving directional antenna? It should easily detect the direction of the noise source and not be influenced by the jamming while pointing in other directions.

    The pipe segments are joined together with an orbital welder, making a continuous piece of pipe. The insides are then polished smooth by a rotary polisher.

    I was a bit surprised to find out that the DOE regulations explicitly state that discrimination against males and caucasians is not discrimination. I wonder of the Department of Labor has a similar rule.

    Isn't this unconstitutional or against Human rights? I don't know about the US, but the German constitution says "All Humans are equal".

    I am not sure about the leaking. Aren't the leaks normally at the seals where things are screwed together? The Hyperloop is built out of very long steel pipes, with quite some thickness to give stability. I think they only need to check the joints.

    Also you only get offline maps with third party apps, or? And then you only have them in one app. In Windows Phone e.g. the running app or Flightradar can just show their info on the offline map.

    Well it kinda works with notification sounds turned off completely, since the important apps use their own sounds for notification. But I did not test all yet

    I don't see how to turn off just the sounds though, while leavving the messages on. I want to see a notification message if I have new email and look on my phone. I just don't want to be annoyed by notification sounds for emails, I don't need to know about mails right away. But I want notification sounds for other apps.
    In Windows phone I can turn off sounds and messages separately. In Cyanogenmod too I think.

    I could not figure out how to turn off the notification sound of Gmail individually on Android 5.1. And I found no option to show all email accounts in the widget, I have to make a widget for each account. But mayb you can tell me how to do this.

    So it would be sad if they go. It is beating Android on battery life and also has many OS functions that I only find in custom Android roms. For example you can switch off notification sounds and messages individually per app. Also the standard email application in Android is a joke compared to Windows phone email. And it has built-in offline maps that are used in apps too.
    The lack of a few apps is a problem if you need these.

    Oh I heard they did exactly that. The Hubble Space telescope was just one telescope out of a big series of spy satellites. They were all built to be focussed on Earth. This is why it had to be corrected to get a sharp image of space.

    The total data rate for all customers combined is limited. This means that throttling the rate for some users will make it faster for everyone else.
    It is better for everyone else if video download speed is limited to what is making sense. Let's just hope that they introduced transfer speed control to make sure that everyone gets enough data to watch the videos. People not getting more than they need is just added since it comes for free and helps others.

    The reason apple iphones get away with smaller batteries and smaller memory sizes is that code bloat of java (dalvek).

    The smaller battery drain is also true for Windows Phone.

    Yes there are DHS at foreign airports, e.g. there were 40 in Germany in 2014. It is on the German news since 2013. They mostly give "recommendations" about people who should not travel.

    ... is that calculations are most of the time done on a linear scale, while a logarithmic scale would be much better. On a linear scale annihilation is a 100% loss, compensated by a doubling of the value, which is a 100% profit. But this is not how it works, after a 100% loss nothing is left and a doubling still leaves nothing. This makes large risks look much smaller than they actually.
    On a logarithmic scale annihilation is an infinite loss. 50% loss is equivalent to 100% profit, which makes much more sense.
