I'll reply to my own question. The Legal world is just as rich as the programing world. It's very much a game of give and take in that the interpretation of what is right and wrong is fluid. Lawyers aren't inherently evil, they just know all the alley ways to take in order to turn what would be a just verdict evil. How that effects society, they just don't care, because they've spent an enourmouse amount of money on their education and the.... Oh my god, I just became a lawyer and I'm going to kill myself........
What a lot of "programers" don't realize is that there is a very rich and textured world of legality that exists in the corporate world. What is actually taking place is the legal precedent of rights. There is nothing like this in precedent, so there is an ongoing establishment of "rights" taking place. Its important in the legal/courts environment, but not necessarily in the court of public opinion. However, these issues need to be addressed to determine business practices.
I'll tell you about defeated technology, we used to put Mac OS 7.5 up against Windows 3 and it was hard. Hard! Man! Now we're swinging swords for iTunes and hackers? F--- hackers, I'm talking about rip-offs of 8-track tapes on my casset tape player. Damn you, fools! I've got a cassette tape ripped from an 8-track of Styx in my Cabriolette at this very moment... and it's CRANKED! Ya'all don't know piracy! Ya don't!!!! Get down with the brother who once played Zork for 45 straight hours.... Can't deal with ya'all no more.

I'm sorry but this sig is not enforceable in any court. A party cannot be tricked into any contract under any means other than his/her free will to contract. All contracts under these circumstances are void.:>
This is another exciting event in the evolution of a Business model. There are billions of dollars at stake and it is so interesting to see how this unfolds. The industry (whatever it will be called in the future) is evolving as we watch it. An emerging standard has just been defeated by new technology. The industry thought it had it locked up (itunes), and here they come. I still think they're on the right track, but ultimately, they're f---ed by technology and smart users. When does the truce take place?
Man, I'm sure I worked for the same company or something just like it. They fired me and they were all stupid and stuff and I tried to tell them how stupid they were. And then they brought in this CEO who I didn't pick and he was all stupid and stuff and all he needed to do was reduce the price of the product and hire better people... jeez! how supid was he?
Very much like the original Segway, I ask this question. If it weren't for the cool gyro system, would we need it? If this robot or the original Segway where on tricycle wheels and had a normal steering system, would it be needed by anyone? The Segway is only an innovation because of it's innovation. It does not satisfy any needs or wants.
I just posted this, but it's very low down. Here it is... I'm a lawyer (well I'm taking a business law class in college) so I think this really boils down to the difference btwn "probes" and "shells". Should it be determined by the courts that NASA is mainly in the business of firing shells at planets; ie: all Mars missions, then the offended party has a case, however, if it be determined by the courts that NASA is actually in the business of sending out "probes" then we have a real case on our hands. Should it be determined that NASA was not in the business of claiming the astroid, but rather trying to destroy the astertoid as prior conduct implies then the actioning party will prevail.
If anyone with real legal knowledge responds to this post, you have too much time on your hands and yes, you are right. The party bringing suit should prevail under the pre-supposed circumstances and not NASA. I have an Exam coming up, and am not ready.

I find your statement very thoughtful. And it is not rebutable, but please tell me how we can not make that trade in light of 3000 deaths? The enemy is willing to do ANYTHING.
1) It will keep us safe. We must abandon all rights. We need it. 2 ). It'll destroy us. Our rights are gone, we must stop it. -- Is there a middle ground? How do we find it and what is it?
Where exactly are they holding him? I've tried many times to sucessfully transfer money and every time I try my 14.4 modem breaks the link. Tell him I'm ready willing and able to support his business prospects and want very much to make my investment. Does the article give his name or email address?
This is a tangent discussion, but you're wrong about Apple's music biz. Apple has either split or changed it's entire mission statement. Apple is now in the music biz. They'll keep making money from hardware, but the future of their yearly earnings is pinned to music sales now. Believe it.
No, it says a lot about Hollywood who produces those garbage shows. You may wish to consider that the majority of people in Hollywood agree with all the same political sentiments that you do. The people in America are the same as people everywhere. If you don't think that England, France and Germany feature just as many fat slobs with chicken grease on their t-shirts as we do here, then you obviously haven't visited any of those countries.
As if, in your wildest dreams the little company that could would make a computer that held the power of Unix and embraced the utility of open source would ever appear. You dreamed it and now it is here. I expected hails, but only hear dissention. Your wildest dreams have arrived and you only find trivial faults. Fools. Steve Jobs is a flawed vissionary but will only go farther than your wildest dreams. I can't believe what I'm seeing. Sell your car for this one or wait until the next one, but don't hate what is before your very eyes. Ahhh, bohtisavta!
As a happy reader, I'm now very excited to see Slashdot has reached its 100th episode and can be seen on the WB or on UPN when ever I want. Hopefully FOX will also pick up on the trend and place Slashdot into their lineup after the Simpsons.
You know, that is GREAT that it will run under Code Weaver's CrossOver Plugin, and just goes to show how utterly stupid Apple's business model is. I
mean, they are in a great position to launch a great media player for linux, which could actually help turn some linux users over to OS X.
Why would developing a media player for Linux move Linux users to OSX? If the desperate desire for a quality media player is a factor, then they should already be looking at OSX as it offers a great one.
But instead they are just plain Steve Jobs clones, fixed forever on their hardware / OS mix and still under the thumb of Microsoft Office and IE support promises.
I can tell by your frustration at the lack of quality media players and MS compatibility in office suites for your OS that you'd kill to be under that thumb.
Get a life Steve, you are way too poor an actor to even be Bill's puppet, as we all see through it all.
Thanks alot. Steve is a very nice but often misunderstood man and now it's going to take us an hour to talk him out from under his desk.
Hi RayChuang, My name is Steve Jobs. I post under the name Che Guevarra as I am a revolutionary just like him. Your ideas for the base of the iMac are also revolutionary which is why I'd like to offer you an executive position in our form and function department here in Cupertino. We'll make you the VP of all things squarish. If you see any of those latte sipping weasels on the design staff holding a compass while sitting at the drawing board, your job will be to knock it out of their hands and offer them a t-square instead.

Damn Straight Mate! USA all the way. We'll even go the moon if you give us some time.
Oops, actionable... that's why I'm not a real lawyer. God Bless Slashdot, Everyone.

If you can call kicking ass and taking names defecting.
