I'm more worried about the current administration's failure to legislate forced change to energy (particularly oil & gas) consumption, then I am about the American public's lack of awareness of the facts.

Really? Maybe the impact of email has been lost on you, but in reality it is still the mainstay of the internet. Sending emails would probably have a large impact on people in africa. I have seen so many times where people will have grandiose plans for change, but it seems that the small evolutionary ones are what matters.

In the past you will see with independant benchmarks that a chip will be better in some things and not in others. Either the benchmarks are cherry picked or the OS's have been messed with to slow down the AMD system. These numbers look like crap.
