    An important annendum to this is that banks, hospitals and government institutions don't really 'own' this data, the customers there do.

    Software as a service takes the importance of the software release schedule out of generating revenue. Cyclical release schedules are hard on both developers and management.

    I have used this one to keep clients in line... they are trying to explain a requirement, I will challenge them to write it on paper. Often times they can't (the rqt doesn't make sense!). They don't realize this until they write it.

    My biggest programming problem is naming things well. Taxonomy skills are partially math but also partially language.

    I agree but I think it is more about language skills than math.
    A good example would be how children that have studied the Talumud have advanced logical skills.

    business theory has about been developed about 300 years longer than genic theory. I very much doubt that someone is going to create a business system that is going to be anything but incremental and evolutionary.

    For once I RTFA and it is not clear who actually owns the site that does this. My guess is that the insurer is doing it and branding it for dell. This would be a legal nightmare for DELL, and corps are psychotic about this stuff. I worked for a big pharama who objected about us including a thumbnail image of the employee in ldap, since this would encourage discrimination.
