My guess is, the Wii has to sign the keys itself for downloaded channels, so they got it from there. I don't know though, this article was really sketchy and I'm fairly suspicious of it.
Not to mention that Windows didn't even have a "taskbar" until '95. Windows 3.1 just put the minimized icons on the desktop. Which, yes, is exactly what older window managers in the X world (as well as W) did.
What about ads that hijack the computer with malicious ActiveX controls that hook the computer to a botnet? Adbrite had to deal with that not too long ago; an advertiser was hacking their ad scripting code to insert some fairly unpleasant stuff onto pages.
How can you accurately differentiate this from the voter accidentally filling in the wrong box and erasing it themselves? You're getting into dangling-chad territory here.
In any event I think there would be much greater cause for concern if they expressed an interest in moving the servers to Russia. That would all but guarantee something shady going on in the background... but then again, perhaps it would give the US bloggers a bit more [perceived, at least] freedom.
They can still get your prints after you've twisted your thumb. Also, I suppose you typed that post with your knuckles. Oh, and I bet you never touch your car keys, check your mailbox, open the front door, or take out the trash.
No, it's really more akin to saying "H Botch thinks the above quote is stupid, oh and buy our product so we can get more money."
I don't use Facebook, but I'd personally object much more to the fact that they're making money off of my picture (and not forwarding one thin dime of the profit onto me) than that people are using my picture for anything.
The NES however, was NOTORIOUS for failing to read games. How often do you have to blow in your carts, or fight with the unit to get it to work? Ah, but in Nintendo's case, that provided nostalgia. People look back and still say they loved their NES. For a disc drive not to read a disc is just annoying, especially considering how most DVD players can still play a disc even after a sticky-fingered toddler uses it as a toy, once it's been wiped clean with a soft cloth.
Ah yes, but by the official US government definition, anything that "does damage" or is otherwise "prejudicial to state security" should be classified at a minimum of Confidential, and precautions are supposed to be taken to ensure those documents are handled completely on separate networks which don't even touch internet-connected computers at all.
(Full disclosure warranted, I do have a clearance, and knowing about this kind of stuff is a part of my job.)
Not five days ago we had an article on the 10 worst keyboards of all time. I'm beginning to think CmdrTaco has an affinity for lists of ten keyboards.
Oh come on, that was funny. Mods have no sense of humor today.
(Watch this get -1 Flamebait now.)

Once it's been broken, no access prevention measure is "effective".
Hmmm... loophole.
"getting around" => circumvention
That's part of the DMCA. Read your laws.
I prefer the name "Wii Wii Revolution".

And yet they'll spend all their money on Metal Gear Salad.
Or to put it more seriously, it's not necessarily a question of being able to afford it, but of what they're willing to spend their money on.
That's only the case for public entries.

What?
Destroy the spam, you must?
That's ridiculous. I just tried an "I'm feeling lucky" search for "mikeiscool" and got to your site. Now go pay Google money.
Your statement is equivalent to saying that site owners should pay Google a search tax when they find a site.

I find that comment absolutely hilarious. Signature'd.

Oh no, not Hans Brix!
Seriously though, it really is old technology.

About ten minutes... but then again, most people with an interest in hacking those systems are doing it to put Linux or something on them.
I said nothing about backward compatibility. I only said that, with a Wii, you can play a number of those games.
Not only that, the Wii can also play a number of N64, SNES, Nintendo, TG16, Genesis, and Neo Geo games. (Beat that, Sony.)
