China is making such a ass out of us, not just with these processors but with everything else we ship over there to fabricate. Not only are they stealing all of our "patents" but they substitute garbage in for the real deal and we happliy eat it up. There will be a HUGE price that we will pay for doing buisiness there, and our greed will come to bite us in our fat asses. Cheaper does NOT mean better, it means CHEAPER and the consumer, and eventually the nation as a whole will pay for that.

  9. Re:WHOOOO cares on Hydrogen Fuel Cells Hit the Road · · Score: 0

I think you misunderstood what I wrote. I was trying to say that have a better way of storeing energy is cool, but it doesnt really help anything. Unless all the Hydrogen we were going to be using for these fuel cell driven machines came from electrolysis via hydroelectric, solar, or wind power, then the hydrogen solution wont be a good one. Hybrids are a step in the right direction, but not the end all. Im not saying I know what the answer is, im saying that for all the $$$ and time our bright minds are spending on fuel cells, they could be spending it on exploring alternate means of energy. I would be all for the hydrogen econemy if the hydrogen came from electricty supplied by renewable resources. But that wont be the case.

  10. Re:WHOOOO cares on Hydrogen Fuel Cells Hit the Road · · Score: 0

We as a society should not be looking at new ways to transport energy. If anything our RnD should be going to find new ways of obtaining energy. Fossil fuel, and neuclear wont cut it long term and Hydrogen may help us transport energy but we arent solving our 'energy crisis', and I for one think thats more important.

  17. Of course... on Significant FBI Abuses of the Patriot Act · · Score: 2, Insightful

The other side of the story is almost never told. You will almost never hear (either because its un-newsworthy or because it could jeopardize other investigations) about the patriot act doing good things, like catching terrorists before they strike... Who wants to read about that anyway? If in all of 2004 there were only 100 some odd "abuses", I like to call them mistakes, I think thats not a bad record. If this act helps prevent even one case of terrorism, in 2004, then it was worth the 100 + mistakes.

Remember, we had suspicion about something like 9/11 happening but had our hands tide in legal restraints because we couldnt obtain the court orders to track and monitor those guys.
