    That is highly Debatable , the TOS should only apply to the service they provide(The servers ,and use of them) and its questionable as to if the EULA is enforceable (in the UK and Germany it defiantly is not, not sure about the USA though).
    The question of if it is lost revenue is also a problem , It raises two question
    Is it a loss of revenue IE: Would these people have played on the normal servers otherwise.
    Or is it a gain in revenue , Did some of these people buy EQ and the expansions(or gold edition) specifically to play on this server.
    Sony only really loses money if you steal the game from a shop and then hack onto their servers and play for nothing. Otherwise they gain money , just not as much as they would like to gain.

    I suspect the system will be used credit card style and try to avoid any real cash transactions.
    So i don't think any criminal is going to get a gun , drag you to a scanner and purchase some things when they can just as easily point the gun at the shop owner and order them to hand over their goods gratis.

    Both are Made up , its just that the Jedi Faith is a lot cheaper(as in price , not actual value )
    So in this vein , i announce the formation of replicantism , As i believe that Philip K Dick was a far better Sci-fi writer than lucas and hubbard combined.
    That said , Lucas is far far better than Hubbard and Hubbard was a quack.

    See this is like sim city , in sim city 2000 the fusion power plant was kind of cool , but in sim city 3000 the plant looked much better .
    You see this is why its not a dupe it's a sequel , the hardware section looks much better than the science section , though both have pretty much the same features

    Its not just pure eye candy , Though Eye candy really does help in the home market.If they have improved the composite rendering engine i would hope that the desktop environments will take less resources.
    I never understood why people find DEs like Gnome or KDE hard to use anyway or even poor , if set up properly ,KDE can be a great working environment and gnome also (depends on your tastes , i can set up KDE to feel slightly more like OS X so i mainly stick with KDE)
    All you need to do is to Burma shave some of the options and your flying , KDE for me is a far better working environment than windows .

    I Think Apple decision was most likely due to Intel having a far greater fabrication capacity and the pentium M for the ibook and powerbook .
    Apple have had a lot of issues with IBM due to fabrication of chips (IIRC AMD uses Some of IBM fabrication plants as well) and AMD has nowhere near the capacity that Intel has.
    I simply comes down to the fact that Apple most likely believe that AMD could not meet their demands for processors and didn't want to end up in same quandary they are in now

    In the Euro market the Ipod 20GB colour costs 299 euros or 361 dollars.
    All the Euro prices are identical to the dollar prices (which is very annoying considering the dollars value right now) except for the 1GB shuffle which is 139.

    This is not copycat behaviour , this is compatability.
    OO.O promotes its own open formats , but it has the compatability to resonibly render Word documents , it is not yet perfect but it is rathe rgood.
    Companys are not willing to switch , mainly due to retraining cost.
    OO.o is not put forward on its compatibility with Word (its just one of the many features) , its put forward on its functionality and open nature.

    The UK has many socialist policys and leanings , so does canada .
    Socialism can be a very good thing, it depends on what level you enact the socialist policys.
    I belive in state ran health care , utilities and to some extend public transport.
    Europe as a whole is alot more socialist than the US , though it is not communist or soviet socialist which are very difrent things.
    the USSR was Stalanist (evolved from lennonist) and China is a Maoist state , both are rather detached from the more resonible socialist leanings of most countrys.
    Living as i do in the East of Germany (former DDR) i have talked at leangth about the issue with my family who all grew up under the whatch of the USSR , my wife infact did too . It was never as bad as portraied but it was not socialism in the sense that i would intend on using it , To me it was Totalitarian Social communism.
    Don't get me wrong i lvoe the Marxist ideals , i just think they are wholey unworkable on the large scale right now.

    I don't know though , PDF was a fairly forward looking format and seems to be doing ok (.pdf and OS X seem to be fairly great , well pdf is if its used properly as opposed to people shoving everything in a pdf)and nobody can fault a pure text document for its functionality .
    Not to mention the plethoira of open standard formats out there.
    All i can say is , Way to go norway .

    I don't think Anime is a great example , last time i checked the distribution of japanese cartoons in this method had actualy promoted sales outside of Japan and was a rather positive thing.
    The biggest losers as ever from copyright infringment tend to be the shareware producers and small time software producers perhaps fringe comercial Stage / TV and film also.
